What's the difference from adding the mixing solution vs added water???
@dravenheart24443 жыл бұрын
I find mixing solution breaks down the pigment a lot better and gives a smoother less red finish. If ya doing smaller trad pieces and just whipping out black with a little bit of black shade water is fine . But on the bigger jobs I like to use mixing solution for a better finish where there a bigger blends :)

I have trouble when using dynamic HWD white . Can you give me solution how make it easy to put that ink to the skin .
@dravenheart24443 жыл бұрын
Yeah use a different white I found intense Snow White really good but it dries super fast or world famous white to be good. Dynamic white is super runny and doesn’t saturate well I had the same problem

Thanks for the info, I heard grey wash under half to 25% falls out of the skin. Is that true? I mean it can’t be if you’re still using the lighter cups shown on this video. Also if you don’t fill the caps completely full of water then it won’t overflow when you add white ;) hahaa
@dravenheart24442 жыл бұрын
100 percent not true. If it’s tattooed right it will stay :) just gotta find a mix that works for you and your own style this might work might not. Can always tweet this one also if it’s a little light for ya liking
@SauroJay2 жыл бұрын
how do I relate the different shades of gray with the differences in size (small/medium/large) of the caps, for example if I have to make a dark gray in a 17mm cap, but then I happen to make the same dark gray but in a 14mm cap, how do I do it? obviously the drops of black will not be the same, because the size of the cap changes. I'm probably stupid, but it's a question I've been asking myself for quite a while. thank you very much if you want to answer me
@dravenheart24442 жыл бұрын
Nah I get exactly what you mean honestly I’ve never really thought to much about it cuz I only use the caps featured in the video I can’t be bothered using different sizes if it’s a big job I’ll just use two lots of the same mix instead of using bigger cups. But technically I’d still use the same method on different size caps 3/4 black 1/2 black , quarter black , then less then quarter black. Then when I’m tattooing I’d start using my lightest tone see how it comes out and how much I need to build it up then adjust from there. 90 percent of the time in most of my grey wash pieces on only really use black , and mostly the mid tone. Just build up my mid tone and make sure to whip it out smooth the other tones are just there if I need them really. You can do most pieces with a black and a mid tone just focus on technique , whipping and blending :)

Yo, about stretching the skin, do I stretch the hell out of the skin or a gentle stretch, I powerlift and my hand strength is pretty decent so I’m worried I might stretch it too much. All the vids I watched said to stretch it really good but I’m not sure if they’re taking into account for an individual persons hand strength
@alishahall79393 жыл бұрын
I know mixing solution would be smoother, but is water a good substitute if you're poor? Aha. Also I've always just shaded with straight black and whipped it out gently to get the smooth effect I wanted. Is that a good way to do it? Haha
@dravenheart24443 жыл бұрын
You can use straight water but some people don’t as it can make it a little red and tap water has contaminants, so probably better using distilled water . I would recommend using mixing solution it works heaps better . Way smoother easy to apply , and they have the ingredients usually of witch hazel , glycerine and some alcohol which actually breaks up the black ink more so it’ll apply easier and smooth. So yeah if ya want bigger and smoother blends and ease of use I’d go mixing solution. If ya happy with how your work is and that I would just keep doing what ya doing there’s no right or wrong just recommendations :)

Thanks for the feed back I use this mix for most of greywash pieces more so realism as it’s softer and blends better.
