PRODUCTS:👩‍🎤🖌 In this project I used faux rizzle resin which you can get at www.fauxrizzle.com and use my code BOSS to save 15%
I go over:
***mixing at different temperatures
***pouring at different temperatures
***when to start mixing in color
***keeping bubbles out of resin

***and more!
I know this is a long video but I seriously wish I knew all of this information when I got started, so get out your notepad and take some notes! Or just keep rewatching and supporting my channel lol. Either way, I hope this brings you value and helps you further your resin game!

Great info but what if I need my resin to be thin as I have some intricate moulds it has to be thin. What do you recommend I do and what temp please 😊

Such an informative video! Thank you for this. I learned a lot. But I have a question... What resin do you recommend for beginners wanting to do a clear resin with a flower. I have no idea what type of resin is beginner friendly, comes out clear, and can preserve flowers. Please answer as soon a possible. Thank you in advance!

I just started out and I use ArtResin. I use dried flowers too and it comes out SUPER clear and little bubbles. I use a heat gun to get rid of the bubbles. Works like a charm for me.

yeah honestly I won't recommend a resin to preserve anything that needs to stay clear forever because ALL epoxy yellows over time, even art resin. I have a couple wood pieces I did on a video here comparing art resin and another brand and both have yellowed. art resin is yellowing slower though :D

Thank you for this video. This is great information. I work with alcohol inks on tiles as well as paint pours on canvas and use resin to finish my projects. This last pour on my tiles was driving me crazy. Couldn’t get rid of the little “pits”. I believe my resin was too cold.
@abstractboss
@abstractboss 3 жыл бұрын
yes absolutely!!! too cold and maybe a little too thin too. If there was any silicone on your tiles that could also cause the resin to create pits. thanks so much for watching!

Great video. Do you have any recommendations for a large pour? I am doing a table that is 67"x 36". I'm a beginner so I need as much working time as I can get. Thanks.

I want to paint resin onto a piece, would the hotter more fluid be the best for that? Also, I have some of the quick 5min set epoxy is that not recommended for projects like this?

That’s beautiful. Quick question: how do you clean up your cups and spatulas? I made a mess in my sink in my art studio. Got stuck all over that sink. I look forward to your response. Also look forward to more videos in the future.
@abstractboss
@abstractboss 3 жыл бұрын
did you dump it down the sink? eek. ok so I let the resin harden in the cup and peel it out the next day. same with the spatulas. It is a lot of picking hahaha but it is perfect for the eco-aware artist who wants to reuse. If you need help getting cured resin out of your sink, use a heat gun to loosen and a putty knife to pry it off. I hope that helps. Please make sure you do NOT turn the water on or you might electrocute yourself while using the heat gun. Just be as careful as possible

Great tips!! I work with Pro Marine.. sometimes dimes show up during dry process. What causes that? Secondly. I've been commissioned to do 3 36x48 panels (on wood). Recommendations Resin will be poured over acrylic art. thanks
@abstractboss
@abstractboss 3 жыл бұрын
hmmm what do you mean by dimes? maybe like pits? that could be too little of resin or the room is too cold. email me at abstractboss.llc@gmail.com with pictures so I can see what you mean and we will chat from there!

@abstractboss
@abstractboss 3 жыл бұрын
Pat C no worries! I actually didn’t mention cleaning in this video. Flip the plastic cups upside down and wait for the resin to cure. It will pop out the next day. Get thicker plastic though like from Home Depot. Those are easier to pop resin out of. Or you can clean them the same day using acetone and shop rags but I feel that is more wasteful

@abstractboss
@abstractboss 3 жыл бұрын
I don't normally use one unless it is a cheap mold. If you are working with a cheap mold then don't use heat and I use casting craft. I added it to my amazon list under "geodes and resin projects"
