Hi! Awesome tutorial. As a beginner DJ I usually sync my tracks BPM by using the pitch faders without changing the pitch of the song, only matching the BPM. Which one would you recommend better and why? What's the difference?

I'm not sure what you're comparing here, manually matching the bpm vs using sync? There's no real difference if done correctly

I have a separate portable HD with all of my music. Would you recommend using Serato or iTunes for a large collection? Does that HD need to be connected all of the time or can I just drag specific music to my laptop every time I do a DJ session?

Unless your collection is massive I'd keep it on your laptop, a hard drive is just another link in the chain to go wrong

@@digitaldjtips I am a tech and can fully understand the "link failure" mindset. That being the case, an external HD is my only recourse as my internal HD cannot handle my entire collection! My intent on the question was really which management tool for a large library was better in your opinion, iTunes or Serato?

They're both more than capable of managing large library's if organised correctly, I'd lean towards Serato purely for the reason that DJs aren't Apple's focus so they could well end up updating in a way that makes things difficult down the line (as almost happened recently with the upgrade to Music)

How are you I have a DDJ-1000 The Master deck doesn't swich automatically when loading a new track. Any idea how to fix this issue Thanks

That's not how it's meant to work. It switches when you've mixed the new track in fully.

@@digitaldjtips Good morning and tthank you for your response. That's exactly the problem is not switching...Example: I start playing in deck A and is selected as master. I load the deck B with a track and hit play and stop deck A. The master should change to deck B bot it doesn't. If I want to chang it I have to manually seclect SHIFT+Beat Sync.

I had a question. How come when you slid the fader over you didn't take off the cue headphones button? Will it still come out of the main speakers if cue is enabled? Or is it just dependent on the right or left side of the fader?

Good question - All the headphone cue does is determine whether it's being routed to your headphones or not, the line faders and crossfader is what determines whether it's coming out the speakers

Nope, producers on Soundcloud offer free tracks sometimes, you can buy tracks for 99p a pop these days no reason not to purchase some if you're interested in DJing :)
