Great video. I’m researching wrasses right now. You crack me up ripping on yourself in this video. We have similar personalities. Self-deprivation is a good quality to have. Keep up the good work

I have a total of 7 wrasse in the whole house, theres 5 in the 4x2x2 and 2 in my nano, 3 of the 5 in the 4x2 are fairy wrasse, the other two are Halichoeres wrasses, I’d say the easiest way to mix fish of the same species is if they’re different computations and not the exact same colours, you have a male with multiple females or they’re all female
@rrrreefer97213 жыл бұрын
Yeah I had 2 male fairys. Sold the Lineatus recently to get all females.

@@rrrreefer9721 yeah, I think the only wrasse from Cirrhilabrus I would never put with the same exact species is the Scott’s wrasse or wrasse that are known to be just like them I think I got lucky though, my wrasse all behave perfectly and somehow even two Lubbock’s are being amazing with eachother

So, I added couple days ago a 6 line wrasse. I have heard mixed reviews on him. My royal gramma hates him (6 line is about 1/2 inch to an inch long). Royal constantly looking for him. I added a few weeks ago a exquisite wrasse, my Sailfin pinned him and it was a constant chase… my lawnmower blenny also chased the wrasse… 2 days after I added the exquisite, I found my blenny and the exquisite dead…. The Sailfin doesn’t go after anyone else, I did see him occasionally chase the blenny too… is there something I can do to keep the Sailfin in check? He’s fast and impossible to catch. Would another tang be a bad idea?
@rrrreefer9721 Жыл бұрын
I would add a couple of mirrors on the ends of tank. Then use an acclimation box with the new tang. Add more than one at a time to spread aggression. Try to get bigger tangs than the one you have as well.

Just found and subscribed to your channel and have to say I’m really enjoying your content and your tank is stunning. What would your advice be on adding a leopard wrasse from quarantine to my main display that already has a Noako wrasse in? The Noako is the only wrasse in there but he’s incredibly active. I do worry because the leopard wrasse seems so delicate. I’m hoping to add the leopard wrasse and a orchid dottyback at the same time to disperse any potential aggression. I could also use a mirror and acclimation box but with the leopard wrasse being a burrowing fish how to I get around this in a box? Also our long should I keep them in the box? Thanks 🙏

Thanks for subscribing to my channel! In your case, you can add those fish immediately with nothing needed. They may check each other out but you'll be all good. 😁

I have a fairy and a flasher The flasher allowed the fairy to come into the tank but now that the fairy is chonkier it’s bullying the flasher
@HCBCHEMISTRY3 жыл бұрын
The answer to your question is to throw them all together at the same time.
@rrrreefer97213 жыл бұрын
That's definitely part of it. But doing that with the wrong fish still won't work. For example, if you tried that with a Scott's Fairy and Lineatus Fairy, it wouldn't work.
@HCBCHEMISTRY3 жыл бұрын
@@rrrreefer9721 did he try a bunch of those wrasses at the same time? I worked at a pet store for 5 years.
@rrrreefer97213 жыл бұрын
@@HCBCHEMISTRY in these cases, no. But a Scott's isn't going to get along regardless of when it's added at least in 99% of tries.

Um... I just added a small 6-line to an established tank full of fairy & leopard wrasses. I waited to add the 6-line last & it seems to work. Yeah, pound for pound they are prob the meanest fish. Totally agree w u on acclimation box. I added most of my fish using an accl box including leopard wrasses w/ 100% success. I stopped losing newly added fish ever since I began using the box. I also had similar experiences w the bluestar leopard. I had a number of bluestars over the yrs & they tend to be very aggressive even toward their own kind. I had female bluestar kill other fem bluestar & had male bluestar kill fem bluestar. For some reason, these guys tend to be quite aggressive.

@@rrrreefer9721 i have 2 small meleagris wrasses in acclimation box right now and 1 of my bluestar immediately went after them and kept pestering them the entire day. The next day the bluestar was no longer interested in the meleagris in the box. Will release after a week or so and see what happens. This method has worked so far for me in adding new wrasses. BTW, how do u plan to catch the bluestar? Leopards are tough to catch cos they dive into the sand.
@rrrreefer97213 жыл бұрын
@@ballejoreef4599 do you put sand in the acclimation box? I'm assuming you do. I have the bubble trap to catch the blue star. Plus she loves coming to the top of the tank so I may be able to catch her with a net by feeding the net.
