how do you install train and car mods? tried to figure it out but the latest version of unity won't allow the updated zip files to be installed

I assume you mean custom cars and locomotives. I know three mods that do this: Custom Car Loader, Skin Manager, and Cargo Texture Swap. I do not know which one you are trying to use, so I will mention all three, what they do, and what may be your problem. Custom Car Loader (CCL): www.nexusmods.com/derailvalley/mods/324 CCL is a good one, but it is not working as of Derail Valley Build 98, and custom locomotives have not been fixed since the simulator update. A fix for the custom cars is in the works. If that is what you are using, that is why it is not working. Skin Manager: www.nexusmods.com/derailvalley/mods/34 This mod only changes the vehicle's skin/texture. It does not modify the model in any way. It is suitable for changing the liveries of your favorite railroad. If the skin is compatible with v3.1+ of the mod, you can drag and drop the zip file into the mods tab of UMM. You are likely dealing with an older skin format if there is an error while attempting to drag and drop it into UMM. See the Mod page for more info on this. Cargo Texture Swap Continued: www.nexusmods.com/derailvalley/mods/1034 As the name implies, this modifies the texture or skin of containers and solid loads. It is a fork of the original mod updated to work with the Simulator update. I have not used it personally, so I may be unable to help you. As far as I know, there are no issues at the moment. If the mod/skin has not been updated since July 1, 2023, it probably will not work. So, always pay attention to when it was last updated, especially for mods that require CCL and Skin Manager. @@lordblackwolf13 ah ok, it was the custom car loader, and the trains i was using is the class 01, class 86, and class 89 from gregtame, they were working back when they switched from bepin back to unity for me

@@AbysmalDemise I noticed this issue a couple days ago. I was going to start up my Derail Valley videos again, but I have some other issues that need fixed first. Hopefully the CCL fix will also add custom locomotives back in, but that is a long shot.

i got the game from the oculus store, can i still mod it?

While I can't say for certain, I do believe it will work. The difference will be selecting the folder in Unity Mod Manager. Instead of the Steam installation directory, it will be where the oculus store installed the game to. Please let me know if this works for you.

How do i fix the thing where it says needs restard idk what to do?

If you would like some help, I will need more information. What mod says it needs to restart? (Name and Version) Are there any dependencies for the mod, and are they installed? What version of the Unity mod manager are you using? Usually, restarting the game is all that is required. If this is not working, something else is going on.
