im glad it’s easy to understand 😭 i’m using an HP Victus ! To do texture editing you can use any art or image editing app or software, i personally use procreate (i send myself the png texture and draw on my ipad) , clip studio paint and photoshop ! Then when your custom png texture is done, open it in Gimp and save it as .dds ;)

We don't know if the file really contains a virus. We use it at our own risk, so far i haven't heard of anyone noticing anything out of place after downloading it, me included

if you are a bit dubious of the folder contents, just use a VM to make your mods and upload your finished 'big_file's to the cloud and download them on your host machine. just make sure guest services are off for the VM and you're not using an internal network connection (though i highly doubt this folder would contain a back door virus/hypervisor escape attack)

Modding this game is complicated than you think, like you need real brainner and also you need heavily research source code and other before do however if you managed figured it out and crack the code let's said use Character outscore for example replacing model Connor to Aris (Blue Archive) changing character model is complicated than COD:MW Remastered since they already manage to crack year ago they crack it can replacing all character on Cod to GFL character mods

This video is only to mod the game's textures and swap models that already exist within the game. Sadly we can't import models from other games into dbh because the engine it uses was especially made for Quantic Dream and isn't available to the public.

Hi! Firstly, thank you for this video, it's really helpful for beginners and has greatly helped me. Onto my question... Not sure if you still read comments here, I don't require any assistance with the tool itself, moreso asking a question. There are several textures for Connor's white button up, but I don't know which ones require changing and which ones do not. I am attempting to color them all the same. I've got the jacket down, just need pointers for the shirt. I consulted a Blender friend who was also stumped considering I found textures that looked like albedo textures. Would really appreciate a redirect!

It works fine for me. Some models are sharing the same textures. If you just edit one of them, either way nothing happens or your game will crash. Some textures are more dangerous to edit. As a beginner, try to edit Kara.

hello, so sorry for the super late reply !! The blue stripes, do you mean the ones on his collar or his armband (20983) ? If you're looking for the ones on his collar then you can't change them :( For the text on his suit, you simple have to erase whatever word you want to change (but you have to keep the background color of 3530A) and write your text over it, no need to delete the green channel ! And for his hair it's 20956 !

hey! What do you mean by it shows you in the game ? To find .idx you can go on detroit's page on steam or epic games, there you have the option to locate your game's files. For steam, parameters wheel>manage>browse local files For epic, the 3 dots under the game thumbnail>manage>installation>little file icon

i know this is a very simple and easy tutorial but somehow i still messed up and my game is just a black screen with the Detroit curser.. i think i backed up the idx file but if i did it wrong is that the case? i also got my mod from nexus mods so idk if that is a reason as well? pls respond ty!

(I'm assuming you're on the Steam ver of DBH, apologies if this isn't the case.) Depending on the mod you downloaded from Nexus, some need to replace more than just the BigFile_PC.idx file, so you might just need to replace some other files. If that isn't the case, there's a chance that the mod simply doesn't work properly, which is an issue I've found with a lot of DBH Nexus mods. You might be better off trying to find a similar mod from a different file. Another issue you might have would be re-modding an already-modded file. I've done this on accident a few times and it's almost always left me on a black screen or crashed the game. I put all my mod files into separate, labelled folders to make sure I can tell them apart, which helps prevent file loss. It might be worthwhile to delete all your edited/moved files and re-download the mod. To re-acquire your game files, you can go to your Steam library -> click 'Properties...' -> 'Installed Files' -> 'Verify integrity of game files'. Sorry if nothing here helps, I'm not the most educated when it comes to modding. :(

If you've lost your BigFile_PC.idx file, one way to get it back would be to re-validate your game files by right-clicking on the game in your Steam library -> clicking 'Properties...' -> 'Installed Files' -> 'Verify intergirty of game files'. It may take a few minutes, but this process will re-aquire and/or repair any broken or missing files. Make sure to create a backup copy of the original file before modding anything to make sure you don't lose it again. Sorry if I misunderstood your question. :)

hello, sorry for the late reply ! To do this you could just swap Kara's short haired model with a long haired one, the same way i did Connor with Nines. Or, if you want only her hair changing and not her outfit, you'd have to use a Hex editor. Sadly i'm still learning about it so i can't help with that yet :(

Great tutorial, but may I ask. I downloaded a custom texture from Harley on KZbin but after I replaced the original files with the custome ones (it's the BigFile_PC.idx one), the game just won't launch. My game is Steam version, is there any way for me to make the game launch ? Thank you.

Hey ! Are you sure the mod you downloaded is also a steam one ? It won't work otherwise. If it is, then you could go check with Detroit Tool (and Detroit_img linked to it) if all the textures are showing correctly. What character is modded ? I can upload screenshots of their raw texture to serve you as an example :) Also make sure your file is named BigFile_PC.idx, with no extra or fewer characters.

If its corrupted then best bet is to right click it in your library, properties, installed files, then click verify installed files. (this will make you reinstall the game)

hey ! i have a few solutions you can try, as well as possible problem causes -you accidentally modified the picture’s format/resolution -your picture is heavier than the original (if i remember correctly it should be 2 mo, but i might be wrong) -try flattening your layers to one, if you have multiple -avoid putting parts of pictures (let’s say you downloaded a metal texture on the internet and you inserted it in the face texture) hope one of these help you !

hey ! what isn't working with the file? you aren't able to see the textures or you can't convert them to tga files? As for your game crashing, i heavily recommended you load your chapters individually. Some characters share the same textures, so if as an example you're modding connor, some chapters with kara in it will crash.

@@RealBillyThePuppet oh then you have to turn 20974, 20975, 20976 and 20980 all black. i noticed it’s complicated to make it pure black, but it’ll certainly be much darker also, 20975 sometimes crashes when edited so see what works for you
