How To Mod: Episode 2: Gutting Carbon Fiber skate boots for Intuition liners

This tutorial is long overdue!
In this video, I'll show you how to remove the built in lining from Deshi Carbons, how to install an internal cuff, and add mounting for the Adapt Symetrics 6 mount system. I'll also cover heat molding and fixing some fitment issues.
The methods shown here will work or be applicable to any carbon fiber inline skate boots including USD Carbon/Free, Seba CJ/SX, and Adapt.

Yeah I used to Mod all of my skates. Its good that you are making these videos, people dont realize all of the things that can be customized on skates. This one is news to me, I didnt know the liners could removed and replaced on these and the skates are still good to skate

I modded my carbon frees by adding a k2 Fatty 45 degree strap that I ran under the sole plate and it's awesome. Modern 45 degree straps aren't angled correctly, they miss the point by only pulling a portion of the boot.

Appreciate the work you put into this. Do you have any tips on using a heat gun/shaving down boot to push up the front of a Wizard 45 with a NR 100. I know its suppose to be close but I’m getting too much rub on the wheel and boot. Front wheel physically won’t move. Cheers!

I’ve never had my hands on a setup like that. The wheel is touching the boot or the skin? If it’s just the skin then I’d cut it away as it should have plenty of contact to not come loose.

@@JustinThursday I was very lucky to get them when they dropped. Its pressing hard into the skin. The wider toe box comes lower on the right skate then it does on the left. I’ve tried frame repositioning but I have little to work with. Putting a washer on the inside of the Wizard Frame does work but changes the feel a bit. The other thing to consider is the 45 is the last skate size to be fitted with the NR100. Size 46 goes to NR110.

Really nice, just ripping shit off and put in a liner :D You are a genius man, seriously! Got some SSM without a 45° buckle - will screw and drill em on. Btw, the toe plastic in the SSM's is just cut off for enough space for 'em. Feels really nice to have room there for me. (There is a leather around it to cover the toes. Some black touch-up pen or edding might help to cover your "frankenstein" screw heads and give em a decent look. Any thoughts about a "hook and loop fastener" compared to a plastic buckle?
