Thank you! Just made the mod (minus the led with a DPDT switch) and I love it!

How many volts does the capacitor have to be? Does a 2.7 resistor work?
@ArtoriusGuitarNerdАй бұрын
@@nicocisneros6339 capacitor can be anything over 16volts. Yes a 2.7 resistor will work.

If I am only wiring for true bypass, no LED, can I wire the switch the same way? just leave out the LED part?

@@ArtoriusGuitarNerd thank you. I modded my V845 yesterday, and it sounds way better bypassed AND the hendrix mode took out all the shrieky highs that I hated about it.

Nice, well put together video man, ya gave me inspiration to do this myself, great job, could a guy ,if so inclined, make any crazier mods on this unit? If so what kind? Thanks
@ArtoriusGuitarNerd10 ай бұрын
The only thing that can be done is changing the inductor(the part that goes wah wah) for a better one. This model has tiny surface mounted parts so it limited to the Hendrix cap, true bypass and inductor. Other Vox or CryBaby models can be modified heavily (more volume, more mids, more gain, sweep control). Check out the lavender wah wah I have posted on my channel, it has some crazy stuff you might like.

Noice. Can you tell me what the green wire is?
@ArtoriusGuitarNerd5 күн бұрын
@@watchmangamer4380 the green wire is the effect input. It comes stock with main input(brown) and the effect input(green) soldered together. The signal gets loaded down and suck the tone out when they’re touching…. True bypass separates the inputs for a true no load direct signal path.

I have a question? If I mod this in the on/off switch schematic can I use a different capacitor other than the stock one and if so what would you recommend as far as the capacitor rating because I like the Hendrix mode but I want the other mode to be different other than stock?
@ArtoriusGuitarNerd9 ай бұрын
Yes you can use different capacitors to your liking. The stock capacitor is a .01uf, the Hendrix capacitor is a.02uf, the bass wah using a .068uf. So you can use anything in between those values, lots of people have used bass wah on guitar.

Hi, awesome video! where do I get the green wire extension?
@ArtoriusGuitarNerd9 ай бұрын
You can use any color wire, I just kept it color coded for the video. The gauge of the wire doesn’t really matter as long as you can work with it (I’m using a 20 gauge).

Will this modification enable me to use the V845 with a high gain distortion? Thank you very much for this wonderful video! It's very helpful because of this I decided to buy a VOX V845.
@ArtoriusGuitarNerd8 ай бұрын
You should be able to use all wahs with high gain. That being said this mod will give you wide range like the Zakk Wyld wah with high gain.

Thanks@@ArtoriusGuitarNerd! - Now I hate all those Vox V845 Snobs in the forums that I have read, - saying the stock V845 ain't good for High-gain Distortion. This is my first time owning a Vox V845, the wah that I've been using all these years is my Boss Fw3 & just the wah from my Multi-effects processors.

@@alexanderp.manalo69 the 845 actually sounds pretty good. Vox designed that circuit correctly, full size audio components where it matters and micro surface mount where it doesn’t matter.

Is the rocker made out of plastic?
@ArtoriusGuitarNerd6 ай бұрын
I don’t believe anything was plastic on this “budget” wah. They feel like plastic because they’re so light weight. The enclosures are thinner like a standard pedal enclosure, the classic enclosures are extra thick and extra heavy. All in all this was a very well designed circuit, it uses micro surface mount components but it has full sized capacitors where it counts.
