i followed your tutorial but i made mine in sketchup pro since thats the software i use:) Thanks for making this video. Now i get to explain to people how and why masks work and how viruses work, since i am a medical and aerospace engineer:) there is alot of particle physics involved with these masks. If people really understood the science behind them. I would be glad to explain it if you all want haha

I did make this mask (different on the front part) and the fit wasn't great. Any suggestions on how I can potentially get a better fit as well as make various sizes? Thanks!
@AvivMakesRobots4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the easiest thing to do is add a foam gasket to the inside, which will fill in the gaps of a bad fit... the other thing to try is to change the original sketch we made of the base. If you alter that sketch, the fit will certanly change as well.

Thanks for the tutorial. I have a question. At the begining, when i click the "Top" face & XZ plane and then open the sketch, "top" face is change and "back" face is come up? I cant stay at the top face.
@AvivMakesRobots3 жыл бұрын
It's okay you can just update this. To do so, go to the arrow underneath the view cube and select "top" when you are looking at the XZ or whatever plane you want. It will reset it.

You can certainly use inventor for this. They are very similar.

Thanks for the tutorial. I was thinking of making a custom face mask using a personal photo (or two) as an attached canvas and calibrate tools. Perhaps worth another tutorial video by you? I know I'd really appreciate it!
@AvivMakesRobots4 жыл бұрын
That would be really cool. It is very similar to this tutorial, though. The difference is that you would be working off the photo instead of generic dimensions. One of the big challenges is getting the photo to be the correct dimensions first.

How did you do the slot pattern? Your video skips that part. I can’t figure out how you pattered with the size reductions
@AvivMakesRobots4 жыл бұрын
Hey, the way I made them was by first doing the pattern, then editing the size of the top and bottom slots after. You can basically "break" your pattern constraints to allow you to do that. I hope this helps! The other way to do it is to just make two inward angled lines the slots need to fall within and dimension them accordingly.

Hello, I loved your tutorial. I was wondering if you could make one of adding a tpu gasket to this design. So the gasket could be slipped on, greating an airtight seal.
@AvivMakesRobots4 жыл бұрын
I love that idea. It can be done with that, or foam. Either way, the print would need to be made of the right materials to function properly and not carry the virus on it's surface.

It is often the size of fillets that causes that issue. If the material is being "pinched" it can cause an issue.

Hi again, i created ur mask but i wanted to make the openings on both sides of the face so i created 1 circle on each side of the face at an angle but now i cant loft that it says that rails dont conect with all profiles, do you have any idea how to fix that?
@AvivMakesRobots4 жыл бұрын
Why not make the holes as extrude cuts after the loft? Trying to put holes into your flange feature is a very advanced process that will take a lot of unnecessary time.

@AvivMakesRobots4 жыл бұрын
@@elmayoproductions6026 You need to project the top and bottom sketches into the sketch of the rail. When it comes in, it will come in looking like a line. You can just make it construction.
@medinayensebayeva76114 жыл бұрын
what is on your sketch2? can't proceed after 6.06 min.
@AvivMakesRobots4 жыл бұрын
Sketch 2 was just two lines for measuring the height of the whole sketch and etc. The goal is to have a base sketch, a second sketch above to loft to, and some loft profiles to control said loft. Let me know if you are still stuck.
@Pyromancers4 жыл бұрын
"the selected rail does not touch all of the profiles." I've tried this twice on mac and pc and I projected the elipse and starting sketch like you showed I just can't get the sketch before this step to give me usable rails. The other rails work. I've had this problem on other fusion tutorial for a whiskey bottle. The points look joined and fail on the second set of rails. It's infuriating.
@Pyromancers4 жыл бұрын
answered my own question. The rails weren't connected at the botom because another point was in the same plane
@Pyromancers4 жыл бұрын
I can see by the jump cut at 14:34 you had to deal with fixing the same issue I was having. You made the last set of rails connect to a previously made black point rather than the purple colored projection points on the bottom plane.
