Perfect solution to what has been a complete headache for me today...thank you for the amazingly helpful tips

Damn! This tutorial is absolutely top tier. Cool techniques, cool way of thinking outside the box and showing me how to use tools I never get around to using, and showing me some features/functions that I didn't know existed. That mark as sharp one is really handy and auto smoothing is great too I always struggled with objects I needed to shade as smooth but retain some sharp features on. Thanks!

Couldn't you create both then rotate the circle 90°and use the intersect knife?

This is great, but when I try to delete the back vertices in the curve, it auto-connects to the nearest vertex. How can I turn this off?
@1963fram4 жыл бұрын
I thanks for this tutorial. However, I have tried your method with 2.83.2 and 2.90 without success. After converting to mesh and joining both parts, I go to edit and try the knife intersect following your instructions but no matter what I do, the intersect doesn't work. When I select with L the entire square or circle gets selected rather than the part I want to keep. My auto-merge option is not on. Is this a problem with the bevel object maybe? Thanks

i cannot cut after intersect(knife) how to do it? it says no intersections found
@anthonyross-7022 жыл бұрын
Up to cutting the mesh was great. Then I couldn't seem to get the parts separated. The two objects will not separate using intersect (Knife) and the control L selects the whole object, not the part I want to keep. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Oh well.

how do i set single vert add on to be active?

Open preferences and then "add-ons". The add on name is "extra objects".

I tired a lot but intersect (Knife) function does not work. When I press L on the plane or circle it selects the entire object rather than part of it. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, Awesome video and solution. Keep it up!

Hi Piyush. It seems that the vertices get merged together by mistake. Make sure you don't have auto-merge option turned on.

@exposeacademy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert. Make sure you have the scale value set to the default which is 1 before converting it to a curve. if you do scaling on it, you need to apply the scale first before converting it.
