This plugin is a disgrace! The "authors" have simply stolen technology from one of the most amazing Sketchup plugins developers, Chuck Vali. His door and window script has tons of features and costs only $29 per year. FlexTools is not even close to that. Vali architects is the leading plugin developer for architects all around the world for many years. Please don't promote pirated technology! If you are interested, check out his other extremely useful scripts. Oh I didn't even know about that plugin 😂 as for flextools, they contacted me and it looks like a good plugin so I promoted it. But valiarchitects plugin, can you scale the windows and doors dynamically? At a quick glance it still looks different. I dont think it's "pirated". Even if flextools copied from valiarchitects, it's still a fair game. Look at how many render engines out there 😂

Got to get this extension ! This is such a Time saver when a client is asking you to draw traditional windows on a building that has different opening sizes on almost every facades. Just wondering if that's so different from profile builder 3 for the use. It looks like this plugin is a bit more efficient when it's about scaling component to keep proportions

Thanks for this video! This seems like a powerful extension. My question is how customizable are the doors and windows? Sometimes I need to model thick wood windows with frames the depth of the walls, other times I use thin aluminum windows where the finishes return into the opening to meet the window. And can you change slab doors to paneled doors, or doors with glass in them. Pivot doors? Frame sizes and thicknesses? Thanks so much!

Hm not sure about paneled doors and glass in them. Maybe that will come with new updates later but I right now I'm not sure if that's an option🤔

Architecture Inspirations I've tried that one. but that's more like bezier tool from MsPaint. So far I have to draw in corel/AI then export-import to SketchUp, it could be very useful if there's any pen tool for SketchUp. Thanks for your response, you've been a great help!

Hi Minh. I noticed you use a lot of different rendering software such as Enscape, Lumion, Vray and more. Just wanted to know your opinion - what would be your preferred software? I've been trying quite a range with Vray being the most realistic although time consuming and I recently gave Enscape a go because of your videos which was quick and produced brilliant VR/360 degree renders fast! It would be interesting to hear the pros and cons of some of the software you have done tutorials on. Keep up the good work with the videos!

Hi Ronan! Right now I'm still a huge fan of Vray because I still get the most realistic renders from Vray. As for the other softwares, they all have their own strength and weaknesses. Enscape is improving really fast though. New updates always impress me. I think it's rather easy to use, but I think the skybox and sunlight can have a bit more options. For example an option to adjust shadows edges so that we can get more of a blurry shadow or overcast effect. And sky boxes still looks a little distorted or low quality for me. But as for the strength, it's one of the fastest and most intuitive software I've used. I also use Shapespark, which needs to improve their reflection effects, it looks really odd. But the strength is uploading to a website where you can walk around the model, that's insanely good. Lumion is something I need to spend a lot more time on. I think using it is easy but mastering it will take time, kinda like Vray. Now Vray is still my favorite but if they don't start doing realtime or VR, they will fall behind. There's also Unreal Engine which is crazy good, but need time to learn. So many things to explore!! Hope that helped 😄😊

Thanks for such a detailed response Minh. I agree, Enscape has really surprised me at how accessible and powerful it is - there is an option to adjust the shadow edges in Enscape by adjusting the clouds sliders in the Atmosphere menu and in terms of the Skybox you can just use your own HDRIs to replace it but I agree that it could be stronger as the presets are a little weak. I imagine Vray will have more integration with VR in future updates but for now I think I'll jump back and forward bewteen Vray and Enscape depending on whats required.

That's exactly what I'm doing too! Sometimes clients don't want an ultra realistic render so I would use enscape, otherwise I'll use Vray for the ultra realism 😄 if you ever have any other questions feel free to ask me here or on my social media. Hm I personally don't invest in vrscan. It's more useful for product designers than architectural designers. Also vrscan can't be exported into maps, meaning that if later you want to use these materials for software other than vray, you can't. On the other hand, when I invest in poliigon for PBR maps, I can use those maps for every 3D software 😄
