Hello Everyone. I am now back to uploading New Content, Stay Tuned for a New MKII V8 LPE Video this Week. Sorry about pixel glitches in this video, i recently upgraded my whole setup to 4K.

Hey man, just for your information, nothing on an industrial scale is "glued" if it can be helped. What you had there were "welds". Lots of plastic parts are welded. Either vibration, sonic or IR welded. Not having one of the parts myself I can only guess, but the back plate was either IR or Sonic welded (probably sonic). Look into it and tell me which you think it is. Keep on making these videos, they're great!
@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
That's very Interesting, i will have a look to see what it is. I would think it would be Sonic welded from looking at the switch. Thanks

Man these cuts looks so clean, even tho mine looks dirtier just because I used a cutter and 2 small knives, I didn’t have that kind of cutter.

I know this video was published a while ago, but I am designing an inline 2 with the XL cylinders because those are the only cylinders I had lying around. Anyways, I was wondering if applying a little bit of acetone would do the trick on the glue points since it melts ABS? For now, I will be using either RC tire glue or super glue. Super glue melts ABS only a little and its a weak bond so it would be temporary. I guess all I'm trying to ask is that do you think there would be a better bond on the backplate if you simply brush a little bit of acetone to the back of the plate? Thanks!

Acetone may work, was actually looking into that last week. If you have trouble modifying them, I am selling them pre-modified on my Store too - sellfy.com/green-gecko-workshop/

Hello, just a quick question about LPEs. I am designing a v6 with xl cylinders as I have not yet seen it done and I like the challenge and am wondering what kind of crankshaft to use for higher RPMs, the typical 120° crankshaft like an i3 or a flatplane like a v8 but with two cylinders missing. Thanks
@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
Hi. You will get no more power from a extra large size lego pneumatic clyinder (this one - www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=137815#T=C) if you use the same size crank, as the bore of the cylinder is the same. That's why you don't see any or many LPE's using XL size cylinders, only normal large cylinders and small cylinders. These XL size cylinders only offer a longer stroke, allowing for a bigger crank. This means you will have less RPM and more torque. I would use a normal 120° crankshaft for a inline 3 and just run two pushrods like my V8. Hope that helps, Thanks

@@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop Thank you for your reply, the medium cylinders are somehow more expensive to buy (with shipping costs) in my country but may be I should think about it. As a side question is there anyway to increase RPMs using the legos, I am thinking something like a mechanical supercharger which further pressurised the air just before going to the cylinders. Could this work? Thank you

Hallo i am a beginner and i wantend to make a lpe for years but it never works i have tried al sorts of models on KZbin but non of them work for me and i do not really wanne try and modify my switches/pistons what can i do and witch lubricant what soort of lubricant can i use i hope that you could help me i have the standert dark gray switches and the big long pistons (sorry for the english) :)
@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend building an Engine without Modified Switches first. Nearly all of my LPE's will run without any modified parts, and If they do I have made a Non-modified Version. This Engine here would be a good place to start, its pretty basic and easy to make - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaS8o6SfgKqpnac . Silicone is the best type of lubricant, just make sure it is plastic safe. Any questions at all, feel free to ask. You can email me here - greengeckoltc@gmail.com if that's easier. Thanks, Mark

Engines that have a 90° offset (or a V-engine which also has this offfset) of the crankshaft work with unmodified parts because if one switch is in a non-airflow position at least one isnt and can push that switch over
