I have found that nothing really helps besides a superlative arms adjustable gas block. That actually tunes and adjusts the gas used to cycle the gun then it vents off excess gas away from the shooter. Absolute best thing i have done. Totally changed how my gun shoots smoothing it out and lowering recoil.

Flow through suppressor and a midlength tube will be all you need but if you are clearing rooms while suppressed and under nods the most important factor for keeping gas and flash off your glass is using high grain, low flash/low smoke rounds.

Great video I did not know about a BCG suppressed or unsuppressed feature. Where do your cases eject out to, between 3 and 4 o'clock? You AR-15 is suppressed only using an H2 buffer, with a barrel under 16 inches with a standard gas block. I would think the cases would be at 2 o'clock. I would think that rifle would need a H3 or H4 buffer weight to get the cases ejected between 3 and 4 o'clock so it is not over gassed. Over gassing over time breaks extractors and bolt heads. Usually a 16 inch AR-15 works great with a H1 or H2 buffer weight with no suppressor. Each build is different.
@suppressedpredatortactics6276 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The BCG on suppressed mode helps prevent the system from being over gassed too much. It ejects at 2:30-3:00. This upper has 3k+ rounds through it with almost all of it being suppressed. We are just now getting close to needing gas rings replaced.

It was a good video, but he gave the impression that you'd have to adjust your gas block for the different types of ammo to work...but its the different ammo and suppressor conditions that the adjustable gas block mitigates to allow your rifle to cycle properly. I'd rather be able to adjust my gas system for a suppressor and the different ammo used vice not being able to have my rifle reliably cycle under different conditions. I build my rifles from the ground up and adjustable gas blocks are no different to install than regular ones. They're just another variable to compensate for different buffer weights and buffer springs, and also allow you to easily tune your rifle for a 3:00-4:30 ejection pattern. To each his own. I use FailZero BCGs typically, JustRails ambi charging handles (don't laugh now, they're cheap, they've all held up, and they offset the higher cost of the adjustable gas block), an H2 buffer, and adjustable gas blocks. And I rarely have to adjust the block.

@garettmatheis9335 ай бұрын
Adjustable gas blocks are not the best idea because they add a new point of failure to the gun, but there is a pretty nice one (albeit expensive) called "RIFLESPEED Gas Controls". Best advice is to get a spring from Geissele or Springco and test with buffers from H2 to H4 until your ejection pattern is around 4 o'clock. You can also look up DIY gas buster charging handle if you want to save some money there.
@mikeskinner96974 ай бұрын
Gas blocks are great. But, like anything do your research first and make sure it makes sense for your rifle/build. But they are great once you get the hang of them.

what parts wear faster when shooting suppressed? gas rings? extractor? and have you tried the a5 buffer system? i have them on all of my rifles but my silencer is still in aft jail. its been almost 9 months :/
@suppressedpredatortactics6276 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, gas rings and extractor will be parts you want to have on hand. With that being said, my bolt has seen 4k+ rounds without needing any parts replaced. The gas rings will likely need to be replaced within the next thousand rounds. I haven't tried the a5 buffer system, but I've heard good things. As far as waiting on the tax stamp... hang in there. Percy Maxim (son of Hyram, inventor of the Maxim machine gun) patented it as a silencer. So, technically, learn your history before you post a comment
@hairydogstail Жыл бұрын
Not bad advice.. The bolt carrier you are using decreases gas to the internal piston which also decreases the gas expelling through the firing pin bore in the carrier..An adj gas block is even more effective as it decreases the gas going to the carrier in the first place..You also got right what the heavier buffers does (effects carrier velocity) not dwell time.. One side note, the use of a suppressor will decrease the rifle's life by 1/2..
@suppressedpredatortactics627611 ай бұрын
