Great video. But my critique is that you said “TikTok is heavily based on momentum” which I wholeheartedly disagree with as none of my data supports that. While momentum plays a small role, it’s not nearly as much as any other platform in my experience.

Interesting point, and thanks for sharing. There are so many anomalies happening with data on TikTok. From what I've observed as a pattern, the exponential rise of growth for an account happens incredibly fast when it does occur, and creators that take a sabbatical or hiatus from uploading have a terribly difficult time getting back into TikTok "good graces". Once the viral wheel starts turning at scale, it's necessary for the creator to be innovative with ideas to keep that momentum on a roll.

@@TheJosephTodd I didn't mean to come off as disagreeable as I did and I do think that there is an element of truth to what you're saying. It's just that as a busy person, I've noticed TikTok doesn't punish me for a lack of posting nearly as much as any other platform. In fact, I have found no correlation between days between uploads and views. However, it may vary on a case by case basis. My hypothesis has always been that the quality of uploads drop after hiatus. It doesn't make as much sense for TikTok to punish that as KZbin since KZbin is all about return viewership. TikTok is mostly about promoting the top videos in general.

Hello man! I have a problem with my TikTok region and I think you may know what's going on. I tried to change my TikTok upload region and so I bought an American E-Sim and used a VPN on my phone, but I had no network connection apparently ONLY IN THE TIKTOK APP even though I was connected to WiFi. So I turned off the VPN but it still wasn't working. So I turned off my E-sim and turned on my VPN and then TikTok worked again but the problem with that was that now my region was wrong and I was getting recommended videos from the wrong country.
