I know you said it was a cheap ass rental, but when I saw the "Magpul" grip was a Chinese Airsoft version with a screw-hole at the bottom, I laughed my ass off! I never realized they would even attach to a real gun, as when I saw the hole on the bottom, I thought that was it. WELL DONE!!! LOLOL

IDK why this took so long for me to find. Was trying to figure out how to do this on the A2 front sight as well as fixed A2 stock, it's like using 550 to set up a sling is some ancient arcane art lost to the sands of time.

Finally a simple video showing one way that is not a QD mount. Thank you. I have several slings with odd shaped quick hooks, but could not figure out for the life of me how they are soposed to attach. Never even thought of paracord. There are a LOT of videos on sling attachment points, and such, but this is the only one I found on simply using a no QD mounting style.

Rock climber and SAR-tech here. Saw a lot of comments on here about what type of knot was used and wanted to clear it up once and for all. The knot used in this video is an overhand knot on a bight. It would be a figure 8 if it wrapped around the center line one more time. While the knot above is generally a reliable knot, it's not as suitable or reliable for rappel/climbing as a figure 8 is, so just wanted to clear that up. Here's an extra vid I tracked down from REI showing this same knot, just to further clear up any confusion kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZeyfJ5nfbWdmKs&feature=emb_title

It's an overhand knot, by the way. Thanks for the vid, I like to save money where I can, and I like the idea of not using metallic clips since they won't rattle.

Yeah bro that looks like a great sling, he should be sending me one to review eventually. He was one of the inspirations for me making gear way back when I first saw his sling video with Yeager. He did a review on our EDC Small Backpack and he will be doing one on our EDC Fanny Pack V2 soon. Great dude and definitely pro freedom all the way.

i disagree with the sling. you do not mention how in a fast unfolding emergency home invasion how that sling can catch door knobs, top of bannisters lower cabinet handles etc. . the 16 in 556 with an easy to grip M Lock rail weighs 6lbs. i think your quite dramatic with the sling. who is getting their 10 mile marching orders through the mountains of Afghanistan that they need a sling. they are a hinderance, not an asset, no more sling vids, embarrasing to watch.
