How we pieced together two kits and saved $400 on a Warn Vantage 4000 Winch and Mount for a John Deere XUV Gator.

Thanks for the video but some steps are not included that would have made the installation a little easier such as the rear mounting bracket for the winch, a clearer picture of where to mount the module mounting bracket and little more detail on hooking up the electrical. Thanks for taking time to post what you did.

I'm sorry that the installation was not really clear, most of it will follow the complete plans that come in the JD mounting kit. I was just trying to show the way I blended the JD with the Warn kit to make it all work, not so much the step by step process.

97dakotaman The winch kit we used was John Deere part number BM24466.Check with your dealer and make sure it will work on your model.

Hey thanks a lot! We called down and told them we wanted to put a warn vantage 4000 on a gator 625i. They gave us exactly what we needed. I have watched your video over and over to make sure we made all the connections. We used all the John Deere wiring and wire harness pieces as well as the dash mount switch and remote mount wiring from the warn kit. The green and black wires with spade connectors from the remote plug part of the warn wiring we plugged into the black and green wire harness connector from the JD wire harness. Then the JD black and yellow wire harness connector we plugged into the blue and yellow wire harness connector on the gator. Pretty simple. The contactor and that wiring was a breeze.

I recently purchased a 625i gator and it came with a 3000 Warn winch made for John Deere, but the remote was not included. I don't see myself using the winch, but you never know when it may become helpful. I don't want to spend $200.00 for a remote, and trying to match up one from Warn seems impossible. Any suggestions to save a bit of money? I did go to a store that sells Warn stuff, but the guy couldn't find a match.

Without knowing if the remote is wired or wireless on the factory supplied winches I can't give any specific advice. Warn does list the wired and wireless remote replacements on their website=. I would give them a call or email them directly, I have always found them willing to help. If you get a part number than you can do an internet wide search for the best price.

@@FrontPorchFarm thank you very much! It is wired.

I did as you suggested and contacted Warn's customer service and they got back to me with the part number for the correct wired remote. Thank you so much for your advice.

I watched this video about 2 dozen times. I’ve found it very helpful, just have a question. Which spade connectors did hook up to the relay in the battery box? The spade connects from the Warm hand held harness or the ones from the John Deere harness kit?

We used the ones from Warn as the didn't require any special order connectors.
