Great review I am wondering if you have ever done one on maintenance and operation of this bailer. I have recently taken Uber an operation and there is one on-site with no information to go along with it thank you
@FrontPorchFarm4 ай бұрын
I have another video when I traded this one off, in it I explain what issues I had with this model. Other than the major break downs grease and inspect before operation. I would suggest you find an owners manual if you are unfamiliar with New Holland. They can be found on Ebay usually. Thanks and good luck making hay!

Do you concentrate your fertilizer applications for the stages of your tomatoes? Beginning plant grown using a balance fertilizer 4-3-3. Then moving the a 0-4-3 for blossoming. Once fruit is developing 0-3-6?
@SaskHunting Жыл бұрын
Also, what do think worm castings NPK is?
@FrontPorchFarm Жыл бұрын
We actually do all our fertilizing at the time of planting; however our growing season is only 6 months. We get enough for the plants with a slow release organic that will carry them through until frost.

I’m looking to buy one can this baler all types of forage even regular hay ?
@FrontPorchFarm Жыл бұрын
This baler worked great in dry hay, it was only marginal in silage. However the upgrades for silage make it a more durable baler. Endless belts and a heavier pickup are primarily why I buy a Silage Special package on my balers.
@haweater1555 Жыл бұрын
I also use an NH648, without electronic monitor nor net wrap, good deal because I bought it off my cousin. I would like to have net but similar used balers with it were up to double the cost of what I paid for mine. Used for silage stretch-wrapped bales or all dry bales stored under cover.

HOW DO YOU LIKE THE 648
@FrontPorchFarm Жыл бұрын
It was a good baler. We lost it to a baler fire in 2012. We are now running a BR450.

How do you get the baler ready for winter?
@FrontPorchFarm Жыл бұрын
Blow it off, wash it if needed, run it to dry it off, grease and run more. Then fix anything needed and put in the shed.

Isn’t the out of the norm in their diet sugar surge going to rapidly ferment in several of their “stomachs “ and cause distress? Like burping non stop for hours and alcohol intoxication?
@shayson1357 Жыл бұрын
Should be mostly fiber since the sugar ran down with the juice, some residue might still remain which would make it highly palatable to them.

One bad feature of the newer NH balers is the gullwing style doors. They do not open near high enough. Looks fine on a level concrete floor but be very careful when in the field. If a wheel is in a slight hole & you open door one can recieve a nasty scalp wound by contacting the door with forehead . Two of my friends have had this happen.. i have used NH balers for near 30 yrs love them great machine aside from this feature.

This is awesome I grow strawberries and other plants but certainly not on this scale it's a pleasure to see how you guys do it I do have one question though what do you do with all the plastic is it recyclable or how do you get rid of it with all the concern of plastic nowadays the reason I ask this is I would like to try plastic but I don't want to harm the environment either
@FrontPorchFarm2 жыл бұрын
Hello Paul, the plastic is recyclable, but finding ag plastic recyclers can be a challenge. There are also biodegradable plastics but they cannot be used for an organic operation.

What do u get for the silage special option?
@FrontPorchFarm2 жыл бұрын
The Silage Special option on the New Holland balers gets you endless belts, roll scrapers, a heavier pickup, and a disc on the chamber walls to keep the bales from sticking.

Does anyone know much per acre this plastic mulching service would cost a farmer if they didn't have this layer equipment?

I recently purchased a 625i gator and it came with a 3000 Warn winch made for John Deere, but the remote was not included. I don't see myself using the winch, but you never know when it may become helpful. I don't want to spend $200.00 for a remote, and trying to match up one from Warn seems impossible. Any suggestions to save a bit of money? I did go to a store that sells Warn stuff, but the guy couldn't find a match.
@FrontPorchFarm2 жыл бұрын
Without knowing if the remote is wired or wireless on the factory supplied winches I can't give any specific advice. Warn does list the wired and wireless remote replacements on their website=. I would give them a call or email them directly, I have always found them willing to help. If you get a part number than you can do an internet wide search for the best price.
@gailrussell75952 жыл бұрын
@@FrontPorchFarm thank you very much! It is wired.
@gailrussell75952 жыл бұрын
I did as you suggested and contacted Warn's customer service and they got back to me with the part number for the correct wired remote. Thank you so much for your advice.
