I've watched some other tractor sites and figured that if you use "S" hook and twine to hang a PVC pipe on the back with twine just off the ground level on the sides and back, they would glide along the grass line and create a light weight pusher bar that would "shoo" the chickens ahead when moving.

Jason, you are a genius with camera placement. One suggestion that I picked up from some other vlog... fix a 1" X 6" horizontally along the back of the tractor so the chickens learn to ride instead of walking along. Hope that works for you. I'm a BIG fan !!!

I'm glad you made the video, because while I made one, I haven't moved it yet and I was wondering how to have wheels on one end without having it also be elevated. And duh, you only put the wheels on to move it. Now I just need to get some wheels.

Well done. That went a LOT better than I anticipated. Tip....put one of your kids at the wheel end to spook the chicks forward. Cuts the drag time by a large fraction.

What if on the back of the tractor you customized a “steel rake” so as you drag it kicks up a little dirt behind. And keeps that closed.

Have you considered a piece of rubber with slits on the back. That way it is flexible enough to cover the gaps.

I thought about that. But I wonder if the chickens would get crushed between that and the wood. Wonder if it would be better to just let them roll out. I should try it. thanks!

See I would never make it as a chicken. I would have hopped up in trough and rode all the way. Then at the end jump out and make it look like I walked all that way and needed a nap plus food....yup this is why I'm not a chicken....

Thats a bummer the tractor wouldn't start and you had to move it by hand. for thous that are trolling it is a joke.
