Bali is a small island with a heap to offer expats and locals alike. You can live in one area, and still easily spend a weekend exploring any other part of the island. The surrounding islands are also beautiful, so there's a lot of life that expands out from your island home.

I don't want to attack you, but it is not what it is, staying here temporarily is different from living. Yes, you can eat and drink here for a few bucks a day, great, but if you want a beer, wine or any other alcoholic drink, it's cashier and I mean cashier! As an example, an ounce of cheese costs as much as a kilo in Europe. Wine, local from the store, undrinkable and five times more expensive than in Europe. The life you live is different from living here and believe me, it will be different and can sometimes be more expensive than you expect. Every day noodles, or nasi with a chicken leg from a campong chicken, good luck with it! Meat is expensive here, local meat is tough and unedible, you switch to import and then, yes, checkout is two to three times expensive if you are used to in your own country. Do you want to live in a room for the rest of your life, good luck with it, your aim is slow. Then all those beautiful stories about locals, they always smile, yes as long as you pay. Don't forget one thing, Indonesia is a winner when it comes to corruption and believe me, it's in their genes. Say no once, then you will see that they are less nice, again I live happily here and am happy with the house I own here, but don't be fooled too much with creamy stories, while the naked reality is very is different. It took me many years to accept, had no choice and now that I can play the game, I play it, you don't learn this in two months Bali! Okay, don't let that stop you from coming here, however, I'm trying to flatten out some of the youtube people a little bit. Finally and this bothers me the most, many expats now live here at squeezed prices, while the Balinese is suffering and this is the last I will write about this!

@@Danygotaworldtosee Thank you for the reply!! I am considering staying in Batu Bolong or Pererenan. I heard that Pererenan is more laid back with a lot of nature, but Batu Bolong is better if you still want to stay connected to the central areas in Bali. What do you recommend to do, to find other serious business people? Some people say to go to the beach clubs or the big Facebook groups, but I have a feeling that is more laid back and relaxed, instead of finding other likeminded business people, that want the same thing. :)

Great video! I have a question about the travel insurance you recommended. Many travel insurance require you to pay for your treatment upfront and then you have to ask them to reimburse you. This is often scam as I learned on a trip in Nepal 5 years ago. My question being does SafetyWing actually pay the medical cost for you upfront instead of requiring to pay 1st? Thanks! I love your channel!
