Greece has great artisans, local products. People mostly speak English which is great because the Greek language is hard to learn. And people try harder to be nice to tourists on a par with Portugal compared to other Southern European countries Italy, Spain, and France.

you should get updated with the economy, Greece's economy doing well and as a result is cutting taxes, like the enfia tax which is being cut by 30%.
@traveleconomics2 жыл бұрын
The Enfia change is good. But unfortunately, the Greek economy is in shambles (which is a pity, the country has a lot of potential). Unemployment at 14%, personal income tax highest bracket at 44% and population declining despite immigration. Greece needs to do a lot more to turn things over. Reduce tax and bureaucracy, reduce the numbers of civil servants, give more incentive for new business.

@@traveleconomics how is Greece in shambles in 2021 Greek economy grow 8.3% one of the highest in the EU and it will do the same in 2022, Greeks are not declining my friend we are returning, like my self who is opening a business. The only problem that Greece has is a shortage of workers there are many businesses that cant find workers and good paying jobs too, like I said taxes will reduce because of the growth, I don't know were your getting your info from but it's wrong.

@@vassilisioannou5488 I hope you are right, I really hope, Greece is a wonderful country. Unfortunately most of the economic data are appalling. Greece grew 8.3% in 2021 because it collapsed 8.2% in 2020 because of the pandemic. It is not a sustainable growth (once again, unfortunately). Good luck in your business.

If I get a GV, after 7 years I can apply for citizenship (if I can pass the language test). How much of the 7 years can I spend outside of Greece? (you said 10 months, is that in total or at a time?)
@traveleconomics Жыл бұрын
you have to spend most of the time there. The GV is not a reasonable path to citizenship. You'd still need to make the investment and de facto be in Greece most of the time. Once you can apply for citizenship you'd still need to wait 1-2 years for the naturalization process. It is a 9 year game - being a tax resident in Greece for 9 years is not a wise decision for most types of income. The PT GV is much nicer if the goal is citizenship, just 5 years before you can apply and lower time on the ground among the requirements.
