Awesome! I’m making a real effort with my lawn recently, used some feed on it about 6 weeks ago and I would say 90% of the weeds have gone, I’ve tried cutting it at least once a week if not more some weeks, I’ve also tried to make sure I’m watering it every 2 days. In those 6 weeks it looks fantastic, not perfect but just shows if you put the work in then it works.

Very nice video. Good points for your climate. However, your headline says, “Mow like a Pro.” In my experience, that’s generally not good advice. While there are some good “Professionals” (i.e., those you pay to do it for you), many, if not most, are focused mainly on going through motions to get the job done fast and get out as quickly as possible. (To them it’s only about making as much money as quickly as possible, not about caring for your lawn.) Most of them tear over your modest yard with a huge industrial, sit-on or stand-on beast of a mower in the same direction (the easiest) each time. The mower is often set to cut too short, and leaves tire ruts and sometimes even skid marks. Then, using a string trimmer, they do a quick, pitiful hack-job of trimming where they rip the grass on an angle down to the dirt along your house and other objects, and perform so-called edging where they continue to hold their string trimmer horizontally (either because they’re too lazy or just don’t know better), and do the same angled scalping of the grass in strips alongside the pavement or bed. (It’s as though they’re not there to take care of your lawn, they’re there to kill it.) If you care about how your lawn looks, mow, trim, and edge it yourself using the good advice of this video as long as you can. When you no longer can do it yourself and need to hire a “Professional” service to do it, good luck.

@tuckerdunn18443 жыл бұрын
Warm season grasses typically need to be cut 1.5 or lower depending on whether u have a reel mower or not. Cool season grasses probably need to be at 2-2.5. I’ve found personally that fescue will survive at this range of heights

I am not a landscape designer or golf course expert but I sharpen my blades three time per season as my first rule. I cut my tall fescue around 3 inches and mulch and plant clover in certain spots for my bunnies. I never bag, side discharge maybe a half dozen times per season. Dogs, deer, kids, bunnies all love my lawn. Plus...I never use toxic chemicals only lime, over seed and aerate(mechanically and biological once per season)..all cheap and easy. My lawn is healthy, gorgeous and can take abuse of kids, dogs, footb traffic and many parties/tents. It's easy when you mow once per week and stay away from toxic chemicals.
