your outside area there looks and sounds like paradise. So peaceful. I have a back bulb that just showed a little shoot poking up, maybe an inch and a half tall. It's whitish right now. How long should I wait before I water it? Thank you!

you can mist it occassionally if you are worried the back bulb is withering too much . I will generally only start proper watering in Spring

it generally starts producing new roots fairly quickly . it will start to swell at its base a little and the roots will start to come from there as the pseudobulb expands .

the new shoot can take anywhere from a several weeks to start to appear to a year , one of mine I had forgotten about suddenly popped up a new shoot after nearly 2 years of sitting being almost dormant .
