You don't need to enable the sidebar. You can switch an app to split screen (or floating) from the recent apps list - just long press on the app in the recent list and 4 options appear at the right including split screen and floating.

14t pro is ace copied all via wi-fi from old phone only down side is that it doesn't like 3rd party launchers and gesture navigation ☹️

Nice. I'm enjoying the phone so far, particularly having split screen back. I do plan on testing launchers in the future, but I'm sticking with their default skin just now.
