I have played every single halo game, and read a good amount of the books so i understand why people have a problem with the series, i truly do. HOWEVER, i think the series is overall good, when you take off the glasses of a person obsessed with comparing it to the games. Some aspects i don't understand, like the romance or the sex scene. But, in terms of the growth of the Master Chief, learning to find himself, learning what makes him human? It sorta makes it a bit more bearable.

I thought the flood was done okay... I liked that they showed what an infection from spores entails. As my main man shipmaster said: "one single flood spore can destroy a species" What i didnt like was how it was transmitted; a self proclaimed "biologist" touches unkown spores because.....dumb? Then proceeds to literally touch everyone to the dumbest music for whats happening. Also, im very worried by the freezing halsey scene as the entire point of the rings was to kill all sentient life in the galaxy to starve the flood. You cant cure the flood and they damn well better not cure halsey.

The flood are not generic zombies, the showrunner even said in an interview that this is a look at the flood when they first breakout, and will continue to get more horrifying as the show continues.

Just because the showrunners made an empty promise (that will most likely be a lie) about the flood for a later season, doesn’t take away from the fact that they were portrayed as watered down train to busan zombies in the season finale

Yeah, the games never showed the flood in such an early stage, so it was kinda cool to see. I think the way humans freeze for a while before turning is really creepy and unique too. But the show will never properly show flood like in the games, just because they can't afford the CGI. They barely have the budget to show covenant or any space combat. We'll just get a couple of seconds of real flood forms with a shaky camera and dim lighting in season 3 until they just cut to closeups of people's faces looking scared.

I personally really thought spending time with the parasite as it woke up was chilling, and the violent bursts with weapons towards others as the parasite takes over the nervous system was an epic touch.

@@drakkonahn8544 ah yes the single tentacle bursting out for only a couple seconds in the entire show makes the zombies into this show "flood." At that point just call anything with tentacles bursting out “flood” At least with train to busan zombies, they actually put effort into making them look horrifying and scary. This show can't even be bothered doing the bare minimum much less making a good rendition of the flood. They literally just look like normal people jerking around with extremely minimal to no “anything flood related” design. Can’t believe people like you are actually coping and trying to theorize about the flood when this show never did anything to earn such theorizing in the first place.

The scene with the "Biologist" was as dumb as the "Biologist" from Prometheus, no quarantine or de-contamination procedures. ep 1, 2 and 8 were pretty good, The best part is honestly whoever designed the props and costumes give them a raise! but the rest of season 2 were so bad. It's mainly due to the writing and directing, Since there are several small moments of "this feels like halo" and then it reverts back to shit again. Most of us did not want a straight out adaption of the games/books but to adapt halo means a couple of core things focus on military structure they are fighting a war for the survival of the human species, focus on the characters, the large threat as well as the tone. There is always a line between adaption and just messing everything up to much . I'm disappointed

True about the biologist! Agreed about costumes and also CGI of aliens was solid too. Yeah I’m totally cool with changes in adaptations but those core elements you mentioned are all requirements.

I bet they will show the Flood real forms in the next season. The people here got infected by spores. The people in the games by infections forms. You could already seen a small infection form in this episode but the "adult" ones are much bigger then that. Im fine with this introduction if they do them more gamelike in the next season.

Tbh i disagree about the flood aspect, it wouldnt make sense to have a full form release considering it was spread from a single flood cell that was dormant for hundreds and thousands of years. The flood doesnt have enough biomass to even create fully formed infection form at this point looool

This is the same type of dude who was a Dragon Ball purist, claiming Dragon Ball GT was trash. Meanwhile, many MANY others can see this show for what it is and still enjoy it. If you are a true fan of the Halo universe, you can understand that this is a different timeline and is NOT supposed to be cannon. Season 2 is inarguably better than season 1.

Hi, longtime fan of Halo since 2001 here. The different timeline argument doesn’t work if the writing is bad, the changes are silly and doesn’t improve on the original. The writers couldn’t even be bothered to explain how Kai killed Makee in Season 1 but she came back inexplicably in Season 2

Just the same babbling from another person. I've said it before and I will say it again. its a decent sci-fi show if you sit down without expectations. It has 80% of the elements of the book, just not the game (mind you the game is also adapted from the books and deviates from that)
