I've been listening to Rabbi Friedman since I was in my early twenties and am now 64 years old married with 5 children. His wisdom and insights have stayed with me in challenging times. I'm home now in quarantine and am using some of my time to reconnect spiritually. I so appreciate the access to hear his talks. It is a great chance to reflect.

WARNING IN BIBLE: 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. 8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. 10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? 12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. 13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. 14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; 15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. 16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. 17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. 18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. 19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby. 20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways. (Ezkiel 33:7-20). Heaven&Hell Exists,Dont be Deceived.

Being Muslim that take care to learn from our Jewish knowledge can't be answered by nice generalities. Because our friend Ben L is doing the opposite of a general move, that is brilliant. It isn't brilliant only because it's rare, but because it is courageously trying to complete his knowledge, trying to compare his understanding, questioning his tradition. That is brilliant because it is what we can share decently! Shavua tov

I struggle with PTSD episodes almost everyday and I beat myself up everytime a bad memory replays in my head. This really changed the way I see my past now. God allowed every single ounce of suffering to happen for my betterment. (Proverbs 3:12). I would have never stooped down from my prideful life if He didn't take away everything I held on to. It was to make me realize that He was my only permanence in this fleeting world. If I dwell in regret and hatred because of my past, then I am angry at God-- not only at the people who abused me.

That’s the problem, I think, that you beat yourself up. Just let it happen, and it will pass. Don’t beat yourself up; I know you know this, but you must listen. Don’t do this anymore. Don’t allow the pain to control your life. It isn’t worth it. Focus on how you can be of service to others, it will help you see your purpose in life.

It’s actually true. There’s nothing you can do to change this fact. We define who we are through our actions. And our words. I know you know, but it never hurts to read it again, and again.

The problem with this is that it assumes the anger is justified and that is hard to do. All too often, we are angry without considering the other person or side of the story.. We think our needs, wants and hurt are inherently important and they are not. The world doesn't care... Only we do. So when we are angry at others and want to point out their fault, it is really only our personal subjective opinion. For example...I am the bad guy in other people's story, whereas they are the bad guy in mine. My story is just as real as theirs, so who's right? We both are. So who is justified in their anger? We both are. So who should be corrected? We both should. Orrr... We can keep our opinions to ourselves and just live without trying to "fix" others, lest we be fixed.

@@zion367 I do not believe there is an absolute truth. Only perspective. Two people can view the same event but based on their lens of previous life events, will see it completely different. And there's no real way to say who is right or wrong. If you add a third person, you'll just get a third version of events. This is why eye witnesses seldom completely agree on what happen. There is no truth... Only perspective.

@@zion367 i do understand wholeheartedly the man speaking. I say this because I’ve been in both situations-where i let ire take control and when i keep calm. I must say that keeping calm is the best way. At times when one doesn’t get “revenge” but rather forgives, the other person is moved by that compassion. If it’s always an eye for an eye then the whole world would eventually be blind. I’m not saying it always works. We’re human afterall. And the evil one knows exactly what pushes our buttons. Once there was a man that was shouting insults to another man. The insulted man did not react, he just kept going about his business. The one insulting him got tired and finally asked him why he didn’t react. He answered that when someone gives you a gift and you don’t accept it, who does the gift belong to? The giver. In the same way when the man chose not to accept the insults which are like a “gift” of poison, then the “poison” remains with the one who was insulting, the giver. Like i said, it’s easier said than done…. But i have witnessed how this saying is true: kill them with kindness

I don’t think enlightenment is necessarily bestowed upon a person; however, you know? I think if you seek it, you will find it, within yourself, because it’s always been there. God is present within all of us, no matter the religion, the situation, context - we all have access to God; the love within us. It is within our free will, and available to us, at all times. I guess this has been my experience, anyway. We are all working on this, I suppose.

If one can’t praise the humanity of this great scholar Rabbi Manis Friedman as one should, it doesn’t matter much because it is not the praise but intention that matter most. If one’s intention to praise is positive, then it will pass on to the man who deserves to be praised… Pakistan

Rabbi, Thank you, you just gave me an entirely different view on how to look upon those who do you wrong. I have been a victim of harassment for over 2yrs as of today and for the most part, I give it unto Gods hand bc i know he is the ultimate judge. Some are truly guided by demonic entities and there is no doubt, my adversary is one of them. The old me would of settled this a loooong time ago, but to the power and grace of God, he has lifted my spirit regardless of who, what comes against me.

He said he will make it his life’s work to make sure I will never be happy and I deserve less than the bottom of his shoe. Rabbis words helped me to liberate myself from the feeling of being choked by my ex. I will keep listening to him…. This was the first time I saw his video Thank you Rabbi

I Love the God given wisdom of this wonderful Rabbi. It’s our choices that make us into bad people. God doesn’t want us to hurt anyone, but once we decide to, which means I suppose to just think about hurting someone, and we become a bad person immediately and if the person dies that is Gods decision, but because someone has exercised their free will to hurt someone they become a murderer. Also, if someone spreads lies about a person, then they must be trying to ruin a person’s reputation, and so this is a form of murder too, am I right??? I just thought about that!

@@manisfriedman being a victim is not a choice or an act, you cant deny being a victim or just have some affirmation that oh if i tell myself im not a victim then the trauma goes away. There are people who pretend to be a victim to receive needs yes and they do need to learn not to do that But real victims don't act they have had certain needs removed and need to meet their needs some needs victims lose or never gain are Safety, trust, love, validation, support, care, etc.. i was sexually abused as a child and his statement is coming from someone who is not walking in the victims shoes You cant tell someone who is a victim to stop being one Its like saying hey you don't want to be human then stop being human. He prob was privileged and shielded from trauma all his life. Let someone who suffered and is healed from trauma speak. And if you're gonna speak on behalf of the people who are wrong then figure out why they do these wrong things in the first place he should of collected info before telling info. Most crimes are due to peoples needs not being met and people leave it up to their own ways and humans are made from sin so if the human don't have physical needs met how you gonna get them to meet the spiritual ones? You cant just remove an aspect of yourself with out replacing it with something else or you will feel lost and empty. We are accountable for our own thoughts feelings actions And need to take responsibility from the victim and abusers part They both are real and both have a language that has yet to be understood. Listen to everyone you will find what you need to know i promise
