How To Never Get Gatekept Again in Lost Ark

The depressing thing is that if you don't gatekeep as a leader, people stop applying. We had 2x 1620 sup, 2x 1620 DPS (breaker SE with 10s), all with CM title for Thaemine NM. I accept a 1610 GL and 1610 summoner. Both with title, decent gems, more than good enough for Thaemine NM. Nobody applies for so long that the summoner leaves, I change the group to 1620+ (GL privilege I guess) and fill instantly. Trying to be a decent person in Lost Ark ultimately just punishes you, people only apply to the sweaty looking lobbies.

For me like a year back what I did to not get gatekept was looking for a guild/community to be in got to know people and just gradualy got into the circle and static ive been with them ever since and made most of my lost ark experience better.

The solution is straightforward: offer a solo option for all raids, including end-game raids, with the same gold rewards as group raids. Since the introduction of solo mode, this approach has been extremely gratifying, rewarding my skill and completion of the raid. It allows me the liberty to fail and retry as much as I need, take responsibility for my actions, and advance at my own pace. At present, the group raid environment in Lost Ark is predominantly toxic.

hell nah brother, lost ark is an mmo and it should absolutely stay that way. if you desire to play endgame completely solo, go play PoE or Diablo, Lost Ark is just not a fitting game for.

@@valest9290 You can be an mmo in other aspects without it being only in raiding. For example in the mushroom game (Maplestory), the bosses can be soloed or played with a group. For the harder bosses, raiding in a group makes sense, but the weekly bosses you kill can be soloed. That way, there is more free time to socialize with others. Right now, there is barely time to socialize with people with the 18 raids you have to do per week.

If you are 1580 and can't get akkan raids, you are stuck. that is what happened to me. now there is solo mode I am catching up to 1600. (but I am 1 year behind) wasted close to 100 hours looking for akkan raids over the year. Gatekeeping and bad partyfind system are what wreck this game. Solo raids will help keep people without statics from being left behind.

BTW, I play 5 supports and have LwC30 and MoS30 (and LoS30 for that matter). I get gate kept on ilvl alone. Hard to fix when you don't have gold for taps. Even harder to fix when you can't get akkan gear (thankfully with solo mode, that is over)

@@scalzochris hmm, supports based on ilvl is not enough for gatekeep. How are your gems, stats, etc? The only reasons I would ever deny a support are the following: 1. Paladin with charge gem. Tells me they have no idea how to play their class. (You can also include all the other supports with no brand gem for example) 2. Low swiftness and specialization 3. equipping level 5 gems 3. No 5 x 3 or above 4. No title. That's about it Everything else is extremely forgiving such as cards, skins, etc.

yeah solo raids realy good, never realy need to deal with party find anymore, only bad part is the gold drop rate is a litle bad. its almost like you get rewarded more gold in partyfind bc its terrible to do XD

My experience here: I get gatekept a lot based on roster level (support main, so it doesn't work either). Abusing the market a bit and my young powerful hands with big uptime I got myself a static and now I am the gatekeeper 🤩 So things I gatekeep based on just in case anyone wants to know. -Roster level (ironical, I know) especially if you're playing emperor arcana, sorc, blade, deadeye, eo soulfist or generally hard to pump or survive on classes. -Berserkers or breakers when I have other options -Maybe gatekeep over you not playing crit syn or gunlancer when static members want to parse -Title -No LOS18 -Qualities and stats (If you have the free 5x3 and 1800 600 on stats I take you, but if you're bringing free 5x3 and shit quals you're instantly out) On harder raids (Hakkan, echidna, thaemine) -Elixir set -Transcendace -I am very careful with which front attackers I take in hm akkan -And ilvl only on raids where It's tight damage. But I do take people on ilvl on a raid if they look good everywhere else. I never gatekeep based on skins or demon damage, can't care enough to look. I know people also like to gatekeep reapers but I don't mind reapers, in my experience they're normally good.

whats the point even to gatekeep nowadays, even if u do most ppl do anyways zdps even with gear - wow good job. now u just wasted time by filtering applicants and u still accept headless chickens but in disguise with idk .... +25 wep, 9/10 gems etc. who gets out dmg'd by lv7 alts gg. if you know that youre good and can carry in terms of dmg/buff uptime, just accept any1 with title or equivalent, nothing more imo, not worth the time waiting in lobby, you just need some mechanic bots who do some dmg, dont expect them to perform very good, if they do great, if not w/e. also hell deathless titles > x10 titles, if in doubt u can always ask them to ping if they got the x10 title and youre more likely to get more skilled players by accepting hell DL titles. except demons roar lmao, that title is a meme.

I do agree with you mostly but to be fair to those gatekeeping, there is always a reason why they are gatekeeping - it's because it works most of the time. Just part of the game and I'm one who deals with it constantly as I am a pug player.

I dont exactly gatekeep by demon damage% per se but I always look at it on everyone because this means that the guy cares, so higher chance of him being an ok player who plays for the clear. I try to be more abrangent but at the end of the day, I gatekeep and get gatekept like everyone.

Thanks for the video and it is correct. I usually only gatekeep low roster lvls (below 150). But for most raids I have a static anyway, just doing some Akkans with Randoms usually and I usually have to wonder how people can still fail in Akkan to such degree. However, even with 3-4 people failing it is still done successfully after 2-3 restarts in g3. It saddens me though that there are still people out there who start flaming so fast and do not realize that they make the raid even worse like this. You have to stay cool and maybe just give a nice tip if you see flawed gameplay

as someone with nearly 6% demon damage, I don't care to look at demon damage nor do I consider the damage % increase it provides. My logic is this: it is already so tedious to check for the other things listed in the video, so spending time to check demon damage is so extra and typically not worth the effort to check. Feel free to check that for your lobbies though!

If I was gatekeeping this character, I would gatekeep you on. Title, thats not a real title. Spec, your spec is very low for a low damage class that relies on lv 10 gems and high spec... going 5x3 with 100 quality to hit 1850 spec is more damage than your 5x3+1 Salad quality, and on a class that needs as much spec as it can get to do the same damage as some classes running all lv 7 gems. This would only apply to a higher lv raid, and if there was multiple people queued up wanting in. I also tend to not take DI SH anyways same for Strikers. Most people only look at. Title/Roster and Cards sometimes also Gems and Quality. Its mostly cards and title, title gatekeeping has always been a thing since the early 2000s. It just wasnt titles back then it was items that dropped in the raid or achievements to show you cleared it. They could stop card gatekeeping by dropping LOS damage to the same as deep dive and removing LWC

I will say though that while this video seems negative, it was more supposed to help people who may be wondering why they aren't being accepted know why. (like a checklist). I would give this game a try and play at your own pace. I promise if you don't follow the same mistakes I did, you will have a much better time than me

Isn't lost ark raid spamming all about gold? I don't understand the economics having hundreds of characters farming gold. You are basically working minimum wage for the game publisher. If in the real world I get paid between $180k/year - $220k/year range, why do I need to farm raids doing minimum wage, it doesn't make any sense. Why the heck I want to keep paying for gold from farmers or busser to progress when all I want is the experience of fun running the raid. Just play solo and have fun with it at your own free time with no attachments and avoid dealing with idiot losers with their miserable lives. If this game doesn't fit my playstyle, there are other great game coming up like Path of Exile 2.

No it’s actually not p2w at all - it is playing and staying focused. Paying does not save you from making mistakes. You should work on your performance and perform clean and people will realize that you know the mechs. Usually, I have to see the best equipped players making the worst mistakes and greeding for dmg without reasons

The game does need some fresh air, I agree - T4 will change a lot of stuff, but not enough to save the game on long term. I will stick with the game as long as I can, I met a lot of nice people in game and enjoy my time a lot.
