Hey!! Found your channel a few days ago and your videos are very helpful, informative and good quality!! I'm going to build my own board one day and I will be using your tips 100%. One of the best DIY channels I've found.

Great video man, content and quality wise, the close-ups were really nice, and lots to learn from your knowledge of all the parts.👍

I published a full raw run video, a little out of order, but you can check it out there.

Hey man great video on the Newbee Helical 4GS. I would love your thoughts after having them for some time now. How likely are you to make a video on your experience with all of the geardrives you've had. Maybe talk about which application is best for each drive if you don't want to ruffle feathers and stay diplomatic. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you! They've been running perfect for me. The grease I used may have been a little thinner than it should have been, and it's seeped out a little bit. I would like to make a video comparing them to others eventually, but it may be some time. Other than that, they are still very smooth, and mostly quiet. They've gotten a tad bit louder over time, but the rolling resistance has stayed about the same.

In the past i used 680 green loctite for grub screws on motor pulley, its strong stuff so i was told to use just a dab. Is this fine to use in place of the 638 you used?
@RBEMotion2 жыл бұрын
Those two Loctite versions are meant for two different gaps. The 680 is meant for a much tighter gap than the 638. I didn't use a Mic to measure the motor shaft or pinion, but I imagine it may be closer to the wide gap for 638. That being said, it's possible that either would work fine.

@@RBEMotion actually I just looked up on Henkels site the difference between 680, 638 and 648. 680 says for loose fitting parts up to 0.38mm gap. 638 is for 0.15-0.25mm gap and 648 is for 0.15 gap.

@@mitsuracer87 Yep those are the specifics, there's some wiggle room but I don't even have a micrometer to see what size I'm dealing with so 638 is probably fine

Do you know how to remove the main POM gear bearing? I've rode my new board maybe a mile and noticed weird noises. Found that at least 2 of the 5 bolts holding the gear to the aluminum wheel mounting interface are completely loose. Only way to access is by removing the bearing from the gear it seems.

I think we spoke elsewhere, and you got it fixed, but yeah, that is probably difficult. Might need to use a couple screwdrivers together, or maybe a gear puller?

Hey dude, yah so I ended up getting a new bearing from VXB in California. It was about $25 shipped. All other options for that bearing were more like $70-$150. Newbee sells a replacement for $30 but would have to wait for China shipping and didn't really want to send him more money when he hasn't been willing to help me with some issues which were obviously not caused by me. Gear drive is working good now with loctited bolts and new bearing.

@@mitsuracer87 Glad to hear that, shame it wasn't a bit easier.

How were you able to get the bearing off in the end? Just wondering since I may need to do the same. Thanks, appreciate it!

@chaldron sorry man at this point it's been over a year I think and I don't have any recollection of what I did.

hey man, I like your videos! but I'm pretty sure your motor can say boardnamics...
@RBEMotion2 жыл бұрын
Thank you man! Yeah, it says Boardnamcis. You can buy these motors from Boardnamics if you like in the US, but they are Flipsky OEM.
