Neil Guru Waters appears again with his tools for nose pegging camels. Nose pegs are important when doing long trips with camels and stops them dragging on the camel in front when using neck ropes only. Teaching a camel to use them is a delicate process and takes time and patience. Once they learn will lead easily and can be ridden with reins attached. Pegs are find necessary when working bulls together. The method we use allows them to heal quickly and can be used within a week. Camels cannot have bits in the mouth like a horse because they are cud chewing animals and just a using neck ropes are to powerful to pull up. So here is how we nose peg a camel.

Not too traumatic at all. Easier than gelding horses by far. Thank you, Luke, for showing us.

Nice one luke, great channel. Great lessons. They are such beautiful creatures, u are fortunate indeed to be working with em. I was lucky enuff to run into u in the shopping centre at the time of the gas plant nonsense. And I also was fortunate to spend some time with ol mate from shark bay and his camels and it was then that I learnt what incredible creatures they are. Like big ol puppy dogs. If one treats them right, like u do. Your respect for them is infectious. I wish u every good blessings my friend
