Same brother, going back to 2/3 and 5/5 from now on. Yeah I am in LA, about 30 mins away from most of the big poker rooms.

In 1/2 you should pretty much always be raising in position pre flop. Most players are going to call light out of position and under 4-bet, so you get to isolate in position a lot by having a wide 3 bet range. KJo from the button to a cutoff open is definitely well within that range. I'd also open a little larger than 3x, you're trying to beat the rake, and again opponents over call. If you open to 8-10 and get jammed on for 16, so what? Call off with your entire range LOL.

@@WeissAdvice you’re right for sure. I didn’t realize 1/2 plays so differently than the other games I played, I’m not a big fan of how it plays out though.

Why does that table only have $1 chips?

This was a 1/2 table with a max buy in of $200. There were only $1 chips and $100 chips... very wide range...

With the $4 straddle on, youre basically playing a game with blinds equal to $2/5. $20 from the BB is waaay too small even if it folded to you. With callers even more so.

I make a standard open to $6....lol. you definitely Aren't going to beat $1/2 or the rake with a 3x open in a live poker game. Standard would be $12 TBH

@@831bweiser yep, I’m used to opening like $15 on 5/5 so I used that same logic here with $6 on 1/2. Definitely made the mistake of opening small multiple times… rake killed me

i think you just running bad right now , once you play enough there you should beat that game easy, they don't like to fold there just have to adjust to the table , better luck next time bro
