That humming moaning sound at 1500 rpm is your abc accumulators indicating imminent failure. Change them all if you have not. Thats one of the ways to avoid a dizaztuh

Good luck!Almost every Mercedes I have owned, failed the inspection the first time..After I got things right and took care of them, they passed with flying colours every year.An ABC suspension is something I wouldn´t like to deal with, but I guess once it´s sorted,it will be fine with a proper maintenance.

Older Mercedes-Benz for sure seem to strike fear & loathing (and $$$ signs in eyes of opportunistic mechanics that don't know these cars...) among people...unnecessarily I might add. I opted to take the car to the closest inspection station rather than the guy I normally take my car too.

when the time comes to replace your struts use Arnott remanufactured struts to save some money. Also keep an eye on your accumulators. If the ABC warning flashes when you hit a dip, this means your accumulators have failed and the system will over-pressure and start blowing things out. Use Corteco accumulators to save a few hundred bucks. All these components should be replaced every 10 years
