The thing I experienced prior ( I just started a boutique this month but had an active wear brand that I sold) is that many micro influencers, even larger influencers will contact you- they will be totally out of your niche and ask for free things. You need to seek out the influencers you want to work with! Free product and payment are expensive for small businesses, I know influencers want to make money too, but there is a bit of awareness that you need to be vigilant with who you choose to work with. I also do think many influencers are out of touch with how much they should make from a media package. Very large influencers don’t even make what some people ask for, I doubt anyone is actually paying them that amount of money. I have close to 8k from my beauty KZbin and the typical is product for review/max I’ve received is $50 for a YT review/Instagram post. I originally sent my leggings from my first e-commerce brand to a large influencer and she reviewed them in a favorites video. She did have an amazing character and seemed genuinely kind! Not everyone is like that, and she genuinely liked the product.

I agree! what I found the best influencers are ones that have already spent money with me and love the product and are a true fan! definitely a hard vetting process for small business

Thank you I appreciate this. I haven’t been asking for results from influencers and I think that’s why I have been hesitant to hire one. I’m going to do this moving forward

Input from someone who has been a microinfluencer and content creator since 2015: amount of followers means nothing if their engagement isn’t there. Ask for proof of their insights- how many story & post views they get, etc

How many comments/replies/links clicked. Beyond the brands they worked with, ask for the # of sales that they average from brand partnerships (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly)

One thing to think about is, do you have the money and time if you get a bunch of orders at once. With POD, all orders are out of pocket before you get the revenue from the sales. Making a few thousand dollars in sales at once, could get you in trouble if you don't have the initial funds.

My peeve is that they cannot guarantee any tangible results aka sales for you. The only thing they keep stressing is how many followers they have and all the major brands that have no problems giving out free product to bloggers and influencers. That isn’t something that a small business can afford to give out free product that is expensive to make plus pay outrageous fees to these influencers for a 15 sec shoutout that is forgotten once the story expires or the post is replaced by other posts. Neither do any of these influencers actually use your product 😢

Yeah, it really is such a gamble. This video is pretty old but since then there’s like platforms now where you can pay really low fees or just give away free product for UGC content which you could use for ads or something but yeah, it’s definitely a slippery slope.

I had one who actually brought me followers paid $100 sale & got a couple sales …I just paid one in Dec $150 & sent my product still waiting on her to post smh 🤦🏾♀️ …I really liked my 1st one & one of those I contacted was ridiculously high this is really a job now this last one has me skeptical on buying again…Some are just too expensive I’m just starting but $100-$300 is my budget right now

Thank you so much for the love! I would say starting in business you def take a deep dive downward before you go up. Depending on what your main source of traffic method you are using, keep testing keep take in all the data that your methods are giving you and make higher level decisions based off what the data tells you. If you are doing influencer out reach for example and you tried everything you think possible and nothing hits then move to learning the next method of traffic like tik tok ads or facebook ads. You are going to learn so much in this business but take it slow, do not rush and the winning is learning at this stage.

I paid $150 for an influencer and didn't get sales((( she have over100K followers. But, after she posted the reels of my product on IG, I find a lot comments which were left by other nano influencers or micro influencers, they comments , just want to catch Brand's eyes, because they want a collaboration. after 3 days, that post have over4k likes and 200+ comments , but just no any sales................sucks
@EcomHannah2 жыл бұрын
Yes for influencers to really work you need to be reaching out to dozens if not hundreds of people a week, making deals with them and testing ALL different types of accounts. Really now a days I say the winning is just getting the social proof and content..... don't expect a bunch of sales until your are driving thousand of clicks to your store from them alone. That is why paid ads tends to be cheaper in the beginning
@brokebrowngal590 Жыл бұрын
Same the only responses you get is from more of the influencers looking for free products 😢
