I just watched this after receiving a job rejection. I'm a former 2nd grade teacher who left in 2021 to pursue ID. I've been upskilling in all that time while private tutoring to allow me to do that financially. I've had several interviews since then and for the first time, made it to the final rounds of this company, got a tour of the office, etc. They went with another candidate today. I'm just tired. But watching you talk this through, helps so much. I just signed up for your Eduflow cohort coming up as well. Thanks for all you do!

I listened to this video yesterday while driving, it was shared on a teaching group on Linkedin. This video came right in time when my mind was overthinking on the outcome after a second round of in-person interview for a role that interests me. Now I am shifting my mind to celebrate the small win! Thank you for the reminder, Luke!

Your advice is timely. I have been wondering if I am heading in the right direction after over 300 applications. I will be revising my plan and creating a stronger focus in the areas of instructional design that best suit my skills.

Great advice, and have applied most of those points. At this point I would say I'm close to the point of not necessarily giving up, but exploring different angles of ID. About when Covid began is when I started to explore ID. I did some self study and research. I came up with my first attempt at a Portfolio and started to apply. I applied to countless jobs and finally got an interview. I was surprised with securing the interview; I believe it was because my experience aligned with the organization. Although I didn't get the job, I think I found a key to getting more interviews. Also, after some reflection I'm thinking I would be a better fit in Training or Facilitation. I don't want to be glued to just designing training; I like to mix it up. For now, I'll keep pushing forward.

I've gotten so many rejections so far. It's really discouraging. It seems the companies don't even know what they want.
