You’re taking your time to build things properly. I would have bandaid the entire van together after a week of no ac just so I could install the ac. So in short you actually rock.

Nailed it. You are so correct and wise, I am sharing this video with my shrink because she told me the same, Upgrade your life. Once your needs are met you're not in survival mode anymore and you feel better and you can be you, let the creativity flow. I've been living in my van for 5 or 6 years now and I'm about to do a full remodel, I'm tearing the walls out. I bought all the dream equipment, it's just that I live in the van, so I'm just waiting for mother nature to warm up Wisconsin so I can move into a tent and start the demolition. And I did get the incinerating toilet, 2,000watt solar (I will have to do a sliding solar panel awning), all the Victron gear, 1,200w wind, 10kwh of self-heating batteries, a King size purple mattress, a dual motor e-bike (so fast that I had to buy a $100 dollar helmet and $220 in locks), Maxxair Deluxe, and some other stuff. All in storage, but the bike, until it gets a little warmer, and it will get warmer and I'm excited to tear out the walls and start anew. Tory Delury YOU ROCK.

What I’ve gotten out of this is van-build-life can go one of two ways, full-time while you live in a “non-movable” home OR do it the way you’re doing it. I think you’ve chosen the road less traveled, so to speak. Which way is better? It’s different for everyone. Oh, the seat needs to be higher on the bike, your legs should only be bent slightly when they are at the bottom of the ‘rotation’. Hang in there Tory 🤗

The only thing that would push me into van life, would be if my rent increased it would catapult me into that life style. i don't think i would take the time to build i would possibly find something that is already to go, number #1 thing would be a toilet, i can find a place to shower (GYM) and would make do with camping style cooking #2 electrical system, and everything else will eventually come into play by itself. I'd say you're experiencing the challenges of trying to build out your van while living in it, and having no fixed area or shop/ garage/sheltered work area. That certainly makes the whole process more challenging than necessary. Poor diet and/or difficulties with a routine will also make for additional mental stressors or low mood. I'm glad you've realized you need to pull yourself up out of that spiral asap! Might also benefit from a good quality multi-vitamin -- better yet, see if Athletic Greens will sponsor your channel -- two birds at once. Just want to see you doing your best... On the plus side, it seems like you'd be a cheap date (10:05) Jk. Alternatively, you can travel in oppulent luxury, free of almost all chores --- it's called going on cruises. The downside is that they'll tell you when you're gonna have to leave a certain area, and you don't get to be at any port for long, usually. But it can be very affordable, most things you need are included (all you can eat, incredible variety and healthy choices in abundance as well). Lots of people to meet and mingle with *if you want* and classes/activities of various sorts too. Cheers!...from North Vancouver

@@lauramoor7730 I can't really answer for her, but I know she has a goal that she's working for. As do I. Sometimes being in a certain place is not condusive towards reaching what your goal is. I live with my sister and her child; there are a lot of times I would rather work towards my dream but can't due to trying to be a good uncle and playing with the kid. Just because things become hard or semi stagnant during a journey isn't a good enough reason to just give up or give in. Otherwise you'd never get to where you want to be.

@@Austinsescapades last build she did was at her parents house. She had all the tools and all the time in the world to build this damn thing. Why doesn’t she do it again it doesn’t mean she’s giving up it means she is using her head.

@@Austinsescapades it’s like saying oh I’m going to climb Everest but I can’t do it because I don’t have the right jacket but then you know your grandfather has the right jacket and you’re just like oh no I can’t climb Everest and just walk down the street every day doing nothing about it instead of asking your grandfather for the jacket and then climb Everest

I want as little as possible and for everything to fit in an SUV. So that way I can get to more places. And I want to be encouraged to be outside as much as I can. Sleep in a tent as much as possible, hike as much as possible, etc. If I have a full van filled with everything I need, I'd never want to leave lol

Try out the Mt Charleston area. A little bit westward like going towards pahrump and you got more of a better view and some sorta trees and greenery around vs just desert

I do long haul trucking which is kinda like van life except I get paid for it lol! Though that feeling of not talking to anyone in person for several days is very unsettling! I usually end up being very chatty with anyone who'll talk to me!
