Unfortunately, truck stops in the past 3 years have become hotspots for kidnapping and trafficking. This was once true, and I know you definitely meant well. But, Unfortunately, this growing problem is affecting more and more places, not just truck stops. My mom was almost taken from one almost two years ago right across from where I work after I repeatedly warned her not to nap there and pleaded with her just to nap behind my work where our cameras point. Someone happened to notice something strange and went to check up on her vehicle when they found a man trying to take her while she was unconscious. She's someone who had always been almost impossible to wake up. The person chased off the guy and had a REALLY hard time waking her up to tell her what happened. Thankfully, it scared her enough to just go home and sleep.

Good concept, but all law enforcement know a non-commrrciall license plate on a business van is a reason to knock and see what else is wrong. And, locals may call it in for the same reason. Also, if the business plate is from out of state and you've got no ICC numbers on your doors...knock knock. Ordinary drivers may not know it, but law enforcement sees all these things and know somethings not right. Maybe a stolen and car, so they draw guns.

My business were in Laguna Beach, CA. and Newport beach, so... Very high end, high dollar, locations. KZbinrs are the new TV stars. Many of them have way more exposure than TV and movie personalities nowadays. And, just as you would never show up at Taylor Swift's house demanding to meet her, you shouldn't do that to KZbinrs either. If you really want to meet a KZbinr, send them an email and introduce yourself properly and treat them to dinner or something. Sometimes they will say yes. Sometimes they won't. I just stumbled onto your channel. Interesting questions. I own a house now (inherited it when my dad died 2 years ago). My kitchen sink's been clogged for days and I tried every Drano product there is, I can't afford a plumber right now so I'm washing my dishes in the bathroom. I live in Quebec where accomodation is still affordable (taxes for my huge waterfront property are $550 a month and rents are still some of the cheapest in Canada) but I'm so tired of the snow, I'd rather be in Vancouver BC (where rent is $3500 a month for a tiny studio. The only reason I'm not there is because I can't afford that.) Sometimes I want to just sell my house and do vanlife on the West Coast. Hell, I already got a storage locker there. I could just get a bigger one. But the thought of not having a physical home is also scary. You're lucky, you have parents you can go back to. Rising rent prices makes it terrifying to think what if I sell my house and can't afford to live anywhere else? I also have a cat. Also, you seem very young. If I can give you one piece of advice, start putting savings away for later (if you aren't already). I always spent everything I had and I had a lot of fun, but today I wish I had a little security money stashed aside 💜

I remember having that problem. How many times did you try the Drano? Did it eventually go down at all? You can try pouring boiling water into it. It took me two days of this and then it cleared. The only way for a bee to get into your van is through a hole. So that is pretty much what you are looking for. Make sure the seals on your doors are not drying out and leaving gaps. If bees are attracted to many aromas, so if you are the typical girl that likes to smell like a rose, you are attracting them. That doesn't mean you can't wear perfume, it means that you need to make sure you seal it tight and clean up any spills. If you haven't done so, I suggest you take self a defense class. Any vents that are factory made, put screen mesh over them. That will prevent the bees from being able to enter.

5:18 The guy banging on the side saying your name might have been law enforcement (if the van is registered to you). They can easily do a rego check on it and find the owner. I've never slept in a van, but did have a half finished camper truck set up once (not completed although it was larger than your van *about 2.2 metres / 7.21 feet wide and 6 metres / 19.68 feet long sleeping / living area ). Got the solar, batteries, inverter (2000 watts continuous happily) and a sleeping area, sink , toilet, fridge, on board water and pumps with shower nozzle, shower area where I could actually shower inside if I wanted and drain the water in to gray water. I had cctv on it as well (4 sides (from and rear on both sides) and also front and rear cams [7 cameras all up not including dash cam] with night vision. This paid for itself (well almost) as at work, a garbage truck came past and took off my mirror. The cctv ran 24/7 so it was easy to find out who smashed the mirror. At first, I thought it was a whinger that lived in the street, but thankfully it wasn't. The whinger vandalized my truck one day (again, caught on cctv). The problem with camping in public is as you say, weird things happening and the council / police moving you along. Because it was a camper, the council will issue tickets (thousands of dollars). There was a cranky old man who hated that I parked in "his street" (public street) when I went to work (drove my rig to work, parked in a back street , got out and went to work). He'd called the council so often. One day when I finished work, I got into the back (door open) and was getting a drink out and chilling for a moment before going home. The council showed up and was shining a torch (flashlight) inside. At first, I thought it was the old guy who always complains, reverses his car out every day to stop me parking there, etc but I found out it was the council. He questioned me and threated me with a ticket. I ended up leaving the truck there for the night (told him I would) , and drove a company vehicle home :D (This would annoy the complainer and give the council things to do *i.e. keep driving past the legally parked vehicle checking I'm not in it :D* One thing I do know is that if I ever built one again, I'd make it super stealthy and set it up with good floor storage bins (double as seats) . You always have a few regrets about the build as you learn from mistakes or find better ways to do things.

One reward was gaining the experience, confidence building and knowledge. I missed a lot but gained in another way. And just now you are looking over where that was. I think we were the only truck that did not go over that 500 ft drop at the curve. 1977 yr. HA HA I`m hooked on your channel now. Wish I was younger. It`s called freedom from a crazy world.

The guy who knocked on your van and called your name was the creepiest. Did you use a hair dryer to soften the glue so that you can remove the sticker easier?
@lightdark009 ай бұрын
Probably Walmart security wanting her to move the van before they called the police on her.

New subscriber here, a little bit of WD40 and a single edge razor blade and the remnants of that sticker will be gone. Just spray it on the sticker and work the paper/glue mixture gently with the razor blade until it's gone. The WD40 will not harm the glass at all but you may want to have some paper towels handy to soak up the excess. In the end your window will repel water in that area but will eventually wear off and the window will be like it used to be. You may want to get some window blackout covers so that people cannot see what you are doing in your van. Good Luck!

Things like this are why I chose 'Hotel Hopping' over van life. I use discount apps to save on room fare. I stay 3 to 4 days at a time and accumulate points. It's not safe either, but I feel better about it.
@Wanderer6077 ай бұрын
Walmart chose to kick you out for your own safety most likely. Because you were keeping to yourself and not doing strange things, you didn't fit in with the craziness there. That can make you a target, especially if you have out of state plates on your van. I lived in Vegas for a while. They are stricter on people not from there, because they assume you don't know the dangers or how to keep yourself safe there. Probably why you were the only one with the sticker. I was sitting in my car at one of the Vegas Walmarts after shopping and was told it wasn't safe and I needed to leave, until I told them I lived nearby, but hadn't updated my plates yet.

Acetone will take off the adhesive of that sticker. Lots of nail polish remover is moslty acetone, check the label I use it all the time for stickers.

I did truck living for 4 years due to work travel status and made it work but it was miserable and now I’m fully grounded for 6 years. But plan on getting a van in 2 years after I establish a homebase and I will build up again. I learn so Much from my decade of being on the road- I hope you find your balance- it seems once you get thru this build phase you can get to your creative self again

Get some goof off spray it will take the sticker glue off. If you have access to a hair dryer, or heat gun, just apply heat to the area where the sticker is. Then spray a little goof off into a rag and wipe it, should come right off. That's how we used to change logos and lettering at our trucking company I worked for. I hope this advice helps you! Be safe out there.

It could be where you parked in the parking lot. generally Walmart wants campers in the very back of their parking lots

Do you have out of state plates on ur van, maybe that's why?
@toriarose9 ай бұрын
Oil (any cheap veggie oil will work) will get the sticker goo off. Dab it on there and let it sit for a bit. Then get one of those paint scrapers or the like and scrape it off. If it still won't come off, you can repeat the oil soak and/or use a dab of borax powder (and maybe some 50/50 vinegar/water, put in a spray bottle, which can also be used for home cleaning) to help get it off.
@lbjackson51799 ай бұрын
Go talk to the Walmart manager and ask if you can park your van in the parking lot every now and then, most of them are pretty cool about it and they will most likely give your plate number to the guards so they will leave you alone.

Just a suggestion for the sticker baking soda & dawn dish soap, use the soap as the liquid then add the baking soda wait 1-2 minutes then scrub it off with a scrub pad.... hope that helps

Need more info why you were targeted. It seems obvious that the guy knocking and saying your name was connected to Walmart and getting you tagged. Anything on glass just needs a razor scraper to get off. It might take some effort though. Either play the game and if a cop notices you, talk to them and see if there’s a better place to be, or remain stealth and have a good rotation if a place gets burned. I think a lot of people don’t even consider church parking lots, they could be a great M-F spot if self contained and not wanting to move the vehicle-talk to the head person to see if they will allow.

Yep that's Vegas same shit all the trash comes from Twain and Swenson now at Eastern and Serene area I was surprised the the 10 cops surrounded you in broad daylight that must have been very scary😱 I live over in that area not far from that Walmart in Henderson and that area is starting to be a concern for how well the neighborhood is. Good luck to you and on your Journeys and please stay safe I love your videos this is a good awareness for people thank you for sharing this❤

For the most part many stores including Walmart don't actually own the parking lot itself, This is done for many reasons but one of them is that the store isn't liable for what happens in their parking lot. So that sticker likely came from the developer that owns the land.
@sandramayes86799 ай бұрын
Oh, really? Well that makes a big difference then. Now I won't feel so bad for parking there!

It's ridiculous over here on the east coast, very few Walmart will let truckers park there. to the point of putting low clearance frmaes at entrances.

If you're ever back in Vegas. Look up Red Rock campground. Its under $20/day. Its beautiful, and theres a bathroom!
