The melee dmg is a waste to upgrade imo, especially for knights. Same for melee defence, unless its japan with bugeishas. Would just upgrade eco instead or age up.

I think you need 2 towers on each side of the gold mine + slits to defend vs longbows.

spear horsemen usually melts through knight archer like butter but not when you overextend with it like he did.
