I'd be very interested in hearing Emma's story how to apply as a Finnish resident, how does the financing work, did she attend IB-high school or does she have a regular matriculation degree? All the tips things you've learned when moving to study abroad and also the motivations behind crossing the pond :)

But I have a serious question. Do you think it's less expensive to rent a room in a shared flat in a less ecpensive neighborhood than to live in a hall? honestly the price per month for a shared room seems really high, even if you're right in the middle of everything...

What do NYU Tisch students usually do after graduation ? Do they go into broadway or Hollywood, producing ?
@MelChikVEVO6 жыл бұрын
GlamGoddes101 I think that would depend on where they want to go. Being proactive and looking at options and deciding where you want to go post-NYU before graduation is super important at any school or university, especially for Arts students. Make sure you're ready for the real world a long time before you leave the comfort of University. x

hiya, i'm from the UK and going to NYU has been my dream since I was younger- I hope to be applying after the next two years. Is it going to be a problem for me to apply just because I live in the UK? I will be taking the SATs before I do obviously.

How hard is it to apply for the film major in Tisch? What should be the minimum GPA and SAT score? How well should I do for the portfolio?
@jakeandemma34398 жыл бұрын
The NYU admissions data is an average across the board. So, the average NYU student usually has an SAT between 1,900 and 2,100. The average unweighted GPA is around a 3.7. However, there is no special admissions secret. It's a holistic process, so they evaluate everything from your scores and GPA to your essays and recommendations. The portfolio should showcase your talent but especially your potential. They admissions board knows that not everyone has access to expensive cameras and trained actors. Just do your best! Good luck!

My decision came out the 31st and unfortunately I was waitlisted for CAS. It was really hard for me since NYU has been my first choice for so long. But Jake since you work in admissions, do you know that if I were accepted off the waitlist, if NYU would still have anymore money to give out? Thanks!
@jakeandemma34398 жыл бұрын
+Emily Louie Yes, you can still receive a financial package if you are accepted off the wait list. Best of luck!
@dattape28288 жыл бұрын
+Emily Louie NYU sucks. all they care about is foreign $$$ paid in FULL. look it up and you'll find they are in the top 10 to accept international students. that's why American kids get screwed cause you need some financial aid. (yeah yeah need based blind. sure...) besides, NYU has no campus. you just hop from 1 stupid building to another while fending off muggers and rapists in the big crappy city. didn't someone mentioned it was a big pot school? if I were you, tell everyone to boycott this entity
