Dont know if I like the grease deal I cut up socks cut 1 side adjust sock and put 1 1/2 inch tape on top the tape the vertical cut down side of sock and put a strong magnet behind cutter and keep cleaning magnet off vac clean up after picking up what you can with magnet even out of socks then carefully pull taped socks out lol But more important to gap the rings bigger

Tip if you have patience. Cut out a piece of paper or thick cereal box cardboard as the size of the bore place on top of piston use regular paper cut it out to the same size volume of the cylinder, wall use grease so the paper will stick around the wall, add grease on the outer side of the paper so the metal pieces will get trapped by the grease and same thing add grease on the bore size cut out paper.

a tip is to file the butting ends flatt too. its a little fidly but works a bit better than the snp cuts

They are filed as well. Just use the snips to get it close

Since you sent the head to machine you could have oring the head from the bottom
