2014 when I walked my first Camino I received a special Compostela from the church there called V111 Centenary of the Pilgrimage of St Francis of Assisi to Santiago de Compostela 1214-2014. It was very special and one I treasure. Good on you for finding it.

Wow. You got it in its very first year I think? Brilliant 😊😊

It took us several days between the mass and limited opening times to obtain the Cotolaya. We had to be persistent but well worth having this to go along with our other certificates. Thank you for letting us know.

I can’t even remember how I knew about it. I did have an interest in St Francis of Assisi but can’t for the life of me remember how I knew about it. I think you’ll start a trend now 😂

I was lucky, Father Manny, the Filipino priest who conducted the daily 10:30 am English mass in the Chapel at the Pilgrim Reception Office, told us about it during the mass.

I’m sure it won’t be so unknown for long, but it must be annoying for anyone who would like it to not hear about it until after they leave Santiago. Wednesdays are a problem for sure as the chapel at the pilgrim office is closed on Wednesdays and the place to get the certificate is only open for a few hours too. Glad you got yours 😊😊

So many haven’t heard of it. The man in the church has nobody showing up to claim one. Maybe he enjoys it better that way 🤔😊

Thanks, Nick!😊 That is a nice surprise. I have not heard any other people mention it. ❤

Barely anyone knows about it Grace, even though it’s been available for the last 10 years. There is only 1 monk giving it out though so he wouldn’t be able to cope with the massive amount of people getting a Compostela. I’m sure he can manage a few more though, especially if the Pilgrims give a little donation. As far as I can tell less than 5 people collected it on the day I got mine and over 3,000 people obtained the Compostela that day so it really is rare. 😊

How did you hear about it? Perhaps I will be one who receives one, too.😊
@NickLivingLife6 ай бұрын
@@galtmann8482 I heard about it as a rumour that there might be a different certificate, so I asked a LOT of hospitaleros until one finally said “I think it’s the church near the cathedral”. I spent a few hours waiting in a wrong church next to the cathedral then found the monk/volunteer in the correct one and he asked me to follow him. 😊

I am glad you followed through and showed the way. Now you know, that monk is going to be really busy from now on😉
