It’s a little outside of the normal working parameters; it’s probably on its way out. I think it usually starts taking longer to heat up the fuel to the flashpoint. I would keep an eye on it and when it starts error coding with EE2, then it’s time to replace it.

My laser monitor 73 has a burnt ignitor I I have a new one and also the primary flame rod in I was just about to install my new ignitor but wondering what is the ignitor guide gasket as I was taking off the old ignitor I don't see the old guide gasket ?

Hi Marvin- Please note monitor and Toyostoves are two entirely different brands. Here is a link to the guide gasket. www.ruralenergy.com/parts/toyotomi/20479521-gasket-igniter-a02-b02-guide-all-models - They do not always need to be replaced. You will need to check the condition of yours to determine if a new one is needed.

@@livelifewarm my old one is not covering it good their is smoke coming out from my new ignitor on my laser 73 looks like it has a old guide gasket just before you put the igniter cap that has 4 screws on the old one looks worn-out and how do I replace it ?

Anyone have any idea why I’m getting an EE12 code? Any time I have my laser 30 set at 72 or higher, it shuts off and gives me this error. I have cleaned the metal screen on the back, which wasn’t dirty or dusty, but I keep getting this error. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I can’t find anywhere to Help.

If I were to replace my monitor 41 with a toyotommi could I still burn no1 or no2 ulsd in it????,,, I would be getting a small toyo like maybe the smallest since the 41 I have has to shut down a lot reaching temp fast and it does not has eco mode so that does not help.

Hi Greig, i am in the UK and bought a toyotomi vented wall heater model FF-V30T it is less than 6 months old, it will not fire up and gives an error code of E-2. there is no repair system from supplier or repair engineer in the UK so will have to repair myself can you point me in the right direction, when it was new i distinctly heard a ticking noise, no ticking noise could it be the fuel pump ( internal tank ) that has packed up, Regards Tom UK

Hey There Have you ever worked on a Monitor 20? I think I might have bent my igniter. It looks nothing like the ones I found on-line. It has a coil on the end of it with a woven Metal fabric close to it. Are you familiar with it? I’d like to sent an image of it your way. it would be nice to know if my igniter is damaged.

what would cause a two week old ignitor to go bad on a laser 73 monitor and if i replace it with a new one would the same thing happen to it?

Make sure you have a water block fuel filter installed - ignitors will fail if there is water in the fuel.

Take your fingers and run them up and down the ignitor, if you feel like there is a graininess to it like sand then there has been water or condensate in the burner pot. It could be entering thru the fuel ( install new water block filter, purge the fuel line to the stove and service the fuel sump), flue (too close to the ground, sloped the wrong way, high wind with either rain or drifting snow and ice)or the clock is not set on the Toyo stove (it has a cleaning mode that starts at 2 am for 10 minutes)
