***** Yea I like your videos but when your showing how it wraps around your foot and the step off one compare it to your actual impossible flip. at no point in you ollie impossible did it wrap around your foot and it looked like a 3 shuv. Try to get this trick down man. You are so good at skating and you need to get the right muscle memory down now that you have it incorrectly

The Impossibles we were doing in 1991 looked WAY different! The board goes VERTICAL and the back foot NEVER leaves the board. Check out the early New Deal vids, like Useless Wooden Toys. Yes, there are different variants, but The Impossible as it was invented by Mullen in the late 80's, goes vertical, and we were doing them on regular boards (mostly New Deal, Blind, and World Industries decks) in the earliest parts of the 90's. Ed Templeton was good at them, if I remember correctly. Anyway, LOVE YOU GUYS, no disrespect at all, just rather see the original Impossibles instead of these Pop 360 Shovits variants. God bless, you ROCK!

Where I'm from,I've only met one guy who could do the ollie impossible in this fashion as I can do impossibles,but in what many would refer to as the "old school" way in which it's a "pressure" based technique similar to how a pressure flip is done. Basically it's where your back foot is in a normal ollie/pop position on the kicktail while the deck is being compressed with equal pressure with the front foot hanging half way off of the nosed causing the center of the deck to slightly flex upward with the weight being balance on both the very rear and front edges and you just let your front foot slide off of the edge at the same time you ollie. Time this correctly with enough pressure and the deck will almost do all the work for you by wrapping itself around your back foot with the hardest part at the end where you try to catch it without landing too far on the front of the deck or in front of it.

I know this is an old video but it will still be useful to a lot of people. That being said, I mean no disrespect but we never would have called this an impossible back in the day. I would love to upload a video but I've lost it lol. Been off of a board for ~10 years so I'm building up to it again. I have recently started teaching my son to skate so I have a perfect excuse to nail down everything I lost. Your videos have been quite useful to my son, as well as myself. Some of the tricks in my arsenal have been way easier to "re-learn" than others and your videos are helping to fill in the gaps. I won't claim to be right or wrong but I've seen and heard kids calling tricks different names than me and the cronies at the park did way back when. This one and the Casper flip being the two major ones. It's kind of silly to think hundreds of us were wrong for so many years. Any chance you will revisit this trick and make a video/tutorial?

Aaron can you ask someone to do a tut about real impossibles? I know is a hard trick so you might not do it 100% proper. I had the impossible back in the days very good, in fact it was my most fav trick and I did it on everything. But I kinda forgot it now and I'm not landing it anymore so I need help. I'm 41 and going back to skate....spent 8 years when I was around 20 and absolutely loved it.
@search8957 жыл бұрын
Sacco Belmonte Hey, same here. I'm 40 and the last years I didnt skate much but I did since 13 to 28 or so and maybe more days alone. I was not great but had some tricks. Impossible was easier to me than 360 which i never landed yet. I been trying tye strawberry milkshake, is similar to a no comply inpossible. Check Braille's tutorial. It might help you. This one looks like a 360 shuvit but anyway the explanation is kinda ok and I think the channel itself is great. There was nobody to expplain us the tricks back then, so we watched the same vhs tapes day by day to see the tricks. Sometimes i used to do the inpossible placing the front foot at the end of the nose so it was eaiser to get off and let the board pop than in the bolts. I think anywhere between those two points helps to make it easier. And you gotta wrap it in a diagonal angle. If you go fully vertical it will hit you.

I'd recommend trying to scoop the middle of the inside of your foot directly verticle when scooping the trick, and then letting it flow around onto the top, and sequentially back to the outside, and then the bottom of your foot. I'd also say have your feet right where the tail meets the flat of the board, and directly horizontal to the bolts, with all your toes, but none of your feet off the side of the tail.

@justin97749 жыл бұрын
Of course its not too late, look at lance, he just recently started skating
@DerAngriff9 жыл бұрын
Royal Pain It's not too late but progress will be slower than had you started in your teens. At 22 you're probably holding down a full time job or studying (or juggling both). That's an energy zapper right there. Don't be deterred though. The key to progression, is to get out there and skate. You'll suck but it will get better. Watching vids is no substitute for time spent skateboarding. Skate lots and if you stick at long enough, you'll meet other skaters - and if they're a bit above your skill level, you'll naturally progress. Everyone has a different innate ability. Some people just need to work harder at it to achieve their goal. If you can't ollie yet, that's your first.

Depends on how you do it, you can wrap it 3shuvs round your foot too. I usually go by the simple rule of if it's too flat it's a 3shuv if it's more vertical and wrapped it's an impossible. This definitely looks like a ever so slightly wrapped pressure 3shuv and you can clearly see the difference in board rotation with his one footed ones that go around properly. Impossibles have a lot to do with you shoulders being squared with your bolts as well.
