This method works but takes practice. The coin can slip and the nasty little ring can snap shut like a miniature trap! ...A STAPLE REMOVER* WORKS EVEN BETTER. * The ones that look like little metal jaws.

Easier way is with a staple puller. Hook the bottom fangs on the inside of ring then close the jaws. The staple puller does the work.
