Most Sony speakers have very thin wood and are glued together so I wouldn’t recommend doing this.

ss-ec79 from the mhc-ec99i, can't do this cuz the whole front comes off, as in the box tears apart, don't ask me how I know. the woofers are screwed in from the back once you destroy the box.

Again be careful because anything made after 2009 is glued so if you can’t get inside then don’t even try to because you will rip the wood apart

Just be careful for the tweeter wire, if you just pull the cover off you will yank the tweeter wire, so be careful
