THe vaccum finally worked but even that took some time. I had to use full on suction as the covesr are metal. Still some dents but hopefully they com out themselves! Thank You!

I thought of using the vacuum but wasn't sure.. but after this video.. tried the vacuum. Worked fine. Just need to be super careful

Probably the most competent video ive seen on this topic, many thanks. Me dented speaker has the same cone type as the first one, the black plastic one. It is only slightly bigger than 40mm though, so vacumn tube is a bit big... Might have to make adapter. I also have brown painters tape, should I try it?

Welcome! It's your decision if you try it or not.

My technics ex7 speaker the woofer cone is pushed in. It’s a composite mica material, so I’m guessing the vacuum trick would work fine.

Really hard to guess what works. It's more about trial and error.

@@UltimateDIYI guess it’s more comparable to the metal aluminum dust cap.

Try brown packing tapes. It will pull out the sunken dome in one attempt. Also the pulling out motion and direction of the tape has to be not perpendicular to the dome but sideways.

i used the tape method on some "broken" fluance ai60s I got for 20usd. I had to stick some packing tape pretty well to it then pulled straight out. was left with a few indentations. i wonder if a heat gun at low temps would work well. i guess i could even try just placing them outside. its 45 c where I am at lol
@UltimateDIY5 ай бұрын
Probably placing outside is safer. Heatgun can cause lots of damage really quickly.

Hot glue gun.

Would damage the plastic and might rip the surface of the paper one.

Thank you for the glue gun suggestion. The vacuum did not work but gluing a small nail to the dome and pulling up once the glue cooled worked perfectly. I used a heat gun to then melt the glue to remove it.

Depends a lot on your situation. Try to improvise based on my advice.

I used very sticky scotch tape and that worked well but I had to perform the process 90% naked, wearing only socks and a belt.
@UltimateDIY2 ай бұрын
Great thinking out of the box! Not really sure what helped more, the socks or the belt 😁
