I tried 8gb ram for my Linux kdenlive video editor it can run perfectly. I’ve ramp up to 12-18gb ram, it improved much better. But in windows 8gb ram, it can’t. It struggle. All my videos were edited via kdenlive and Linux and it’s all in my videos. This also the same with my MacBook, it runs perfectly well. As I a multiple OS user, I noticed that windows is the most ram hungry OS of all. Even in CPU, ramping up more than Mac and Linux.

It will work smoothly with your default RAM 👍 , If your default RAM is Single Rank (Which happens to be in 95% of the cases) Your New RAM clock speed is 3200Mhz with CL of 22 and it's an unbuffered single rank RAM which I feel that it will definitely goona work fine

I have the same specs like you and same RAM part Nm LV32D4S2S8HD-8 (I found out in bios). I searched everywhere but I could not find that memory. Install CPU Z and check on the Memory and SPD tab whether your default RAM is Single Rank or double Rank RAM. On RAM stickers Single RAM are labelled as 1Rx16 and crucial writes it as S6/8. Dual/Double Rank RAM are labelled as 1Rx8 and crucial writes it as S8/8. If your default RAM happens to be Single RANK plz Buy Single Rank RAM only.. otherwise your system will be unstable. Or if you hv enough budget then replace both the RAMs with RIPJAWS Double RANK Dual RAM Kit.. go for double Rank RAM they are gud

S6/8 will only hv 4 chips on the RAM and they r slower than S8/8 which hv 8 chips on the RAM stick. U will understand byurself by seeing the adv.pics , On the photos U can easily see whether it's 4chip or 8chip.

IdeaPad Gaming 3 has two slots.. One Slot is Empty and One Slot has 8GB RAM on it, For Dual Channel Operation you can buy similar specs RAM from market just.. take care of Clock frequency, Cache latency (CL) and see whether it's 1Rx8 or 1Rx16 chip

There isn’t a simple single answer here. You might mix these and find you don’t have any issue. Best case. You might also find they work but you have stability issues. They might not work together at all. 1rx16 Performs slower than 1rx8 that's y 1rx16 rams are cheaper than 1rx8 .. it's very likely that if you mix these two rams you can hv dual channel compatible or stability issues

Yes you can add 2666mhz to 3200mhz just check both ram shud be either 1Rx8 or 1Rx16 ! Adding 2666mhz will make your other ram to work with same frequency i.e 2666mhz despite its 3200mhz

what you are using to open it up, after unscrewing all screws try opening the lappy from speaker sides, i know its not always that easy you need to insert 2-3 more pieces to wide open the case.
