@@duckhuntergaming4713 i was replying to the specific comment above which said that John has elevated GJJ, “smarter 100%”. I was trying to tell him that this is not John creating a special way to open the guard, that this is a classic Marcelo move. MG in Action.. the owners could see who watched it most online. The biggest watcher by time spent on the site .. by a long way .. was John. So yeah, he stole many of marcelo’s teaching and re-packaged them into his own teaching, just like this. Craig was interviewed for CJI recently and literally said “John stole a lot of marcelo’s process and then was good at marketing”. Have a great day!

I do a variation of this while staying the squat position. Feels like you could get double arm barred but just keep your elbows out wide enough. I call it the prostate squeeze guard break

You’re posture isn’t right and you’re placing your feet to close to their hips. Work on those two things. Drill it until your partner can’t sweep you. Also when you stand up you need to glue your elbows to your sides so they can’t sweep you or get their x-guard.

@MrHands-wy4gz Жыл бұрын
Your doing it wrong you want to hold the biceps, and get your knee up the bum and base the other leg out then you lift them up till you have the lower back on the knee that was before on the bum, you then push down on the hips with your hands this breaks the guard open and also you'll have one of their legs caught ontop of your based out leg which you can use to pass or do a rolling knee bar if you know how.
@MrHands-wy4gz Жыл бұрын
Another way you can set this up without a knee up bum is to double grab one of partners wrist and hold it on his belly before you lift up so it stops him double grabbing your ankles.

They taught me the response to that. The moment he gets up you grab the his ankle with your elbow, meanwhile you put the other hand on the floor and with that arm you push upwards (using also your lower back and glutes) to make him fall and get the full mount again
@craigaucott36666 ай бұрын

some guard passing variation, usually you will try to make a Knee Cut/slide pass, or make a grip with your left arm (in this case) on your opponent right leg, pin it to the floor, and staple it with your left shin, and windshield wipe to pass. But don't get too rigid with what you do from there, because people will react differently when they open the guard.

it's incredibly hard but you can't let him get that bicep control in the first place and when he places the knee in the butt you have to lift your hips and move them to the side so that the knee is no longer in the middle it's not really happening if they have that double bicep grip.

Came here to correct John Danaher, huh? 🤣🤣🤣
@Jerry-uc1pn Жыл бұрын
@carltoncarvalho gave this explanation on another Danaher video about the same thing. I’m only a blue belt but I’ve noticed that standing straight up will only get you swept against someone skilled. Instead controlling the biceps while pinning your head up under their chin while standing gives you way better/safer chances of escaping full guard. This stretches them out and puts pressure on their ankles. You can add to this by bringing your knee in to push a leg down if there is an opening or squatting to allow your elbow to push the leg down while still maintaining control of their arms with your hands and their upper body posture with your head. Like I said I’m just a blue belt but this has worked frequently against higher belt guys who are way bigger and stronger than me. And I think it’s because I’m using the weight of both of our bodies against their ankles and using most of my body weight to pin their arms. At some point the legs just start to loosen to the point where a well placed knee or elbow can completely break the guard or allow you to step out or Slice through.

@Hanns very easily. You can go either side. Grab one arm and throw it across your body and take the other free arm and get it out of the way as you lock up the triangle. Then as the arm that you took across your body is in the triangle, you can transition to an easy arm bar with the triangle locked in.
