Great presentation for learning. The voice-over describing the techniques in motion is *such* a superior method to trying to talk through techniques/concepts in piecemeal; and 90% of the time when done that way, the technique never ends up actually being shown as it's meant to be performed in action. Thanks for taking the time to make this.

@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Not only the voiceover work, but seeing full speed movement in slow motion is super important, because you get to see how things work when there is momentum. Just doing movements slowly oftentimes doesn't work very well for demonstration, because momentum is needed to flow through. Great didactic skills on your channel!

One more idea for videos (as a white belt): what grips/hooks (and combos) are most important during guard retention and pass, and their counters. Very few videos on the topic, which is probably not very cool but absolutely life or death during sparring, as you've pointed out in several clips 👍

Thanks for your excellent videos Jordan and this one in particular. Really helpful for a white belt like myself. You asked in another vid how did people get started in BJJ. I wish I’d started 20 years ago now but got my kids into MMA 3 years ago post listening to Joe Rogan podcasts on long runs and hearing the benefits for confidence building, discipline etc. The club in Liverpool, UK allows families to train together which makes it very time efficient from a parent perspective as I can train in the same class. Enjoy all of it but really like the grappling more than striking so joined a separate BJJ specific school a few months back when it opened nearby. Really glad I did as although I know some of the basics there are some fundamental gaps too. Your videos are extremely helpful - many thanks! Phil
