How to open disassemble N14644 TomTom One Canada 310 replace screen or battery tutorial

My N14644 had two phillips screws under the stickers at the bottom which need to be unscrewed as a first step. The bezel & metal piece are all-in-one and two clips holding the screen in place had to be released before the bezel assy could be removed.

@indioBstero Thank you. I could not find the screen separately for the TomTom so I found a ~$25 broken tomtom on ebay that had a good screen and changed the screens. I then sold the broken tomtom on ebay with the broken screen as-is for ~$10.

No, fotonphorces, I have exactly the same model reference, mine has one screw just under the CE decal and the second screw is accessible once the bezel plus screen have been "pinged" out otherwise by the same method.

You must remove the label sticker on the bottom first and there are 3 small release tabs under the sticker. If you push the tabs in with a small tool (screw driver) it will release the frame on the bottom and then you can work around to release the others like he did. This does not show installing the new one, do they come with the full connection strip to just plug back in or not ?

Great video, with one exception.......wish you would have spent a little more time on the ribbon connector lock (the little white thingy) You released it so effortlessly and fast, I can't see how you did it after watching that part at least 50 times.

Can anyone post the battery model for the N14644. I don't want to open the unit unless I know I can replace the Battery. The video was too blurry to read which one to get. Thanks BTW- There are no screws under the label on my N14644. There are a few slots where tabs can be seen but pushing on them with a flat head screwdriver does nothing.

sorry, mostly wrong. Watch anyway, mark with a sharpie the tabs when he shows the back. FIRST take of sticker on usb side, pop in those visible tabs, chase them around as they release one-by-one. Leave metal and screen alone, remove four black screws, lift but don't yank assembly, 3 silver screws give access to board and batt. connector & screen if need be. replugging batt. connector fixed mine.

you should use specific plastic tools, not those two thin metal screwdriver.

Should have came with a USB, connect tomtom to computer, it will install Tomtom Home or something, from there it will update your maps and stuff.

Just a note... there is no such thing as a "Canada 310" model. That is just a reference to a Canadian interference regulation, similar to the FCC in America and CE marking in Europe.
