How to open the roof on a convertible car (Renault Megane)

In this video I will show you how to open the roof of Renault Megane, but also the principle should be similar to other cabriolet vehicles.

Hi, yes you can stop it in the middle, but I think you will not be able to drive the car with the roof open half way, car won't let you. So park your car exactly where you want before doing it.

Yes you can tho after a period of time it will sound a warning and then begin to fold either open or shut, which ever is the closest to being completed

Another great tip for this car is take the fuse out for the small rear vent windows to disable them. These windows Mechanisms are very likely to break! I found the repair for just one is £600.00 for a little window!! Its also a massive job!! The roof will still go down with them up and you wont end up with a expensive repair on two small windows

hello.. i have the exact same problem.. i have to push the switch for move the rear window many times.. and thats a risk in case we have the roof open and starts rain.. did you tried for the fuses? another guy in one video show that the roof goes down anyway even with a stuck rear window

No. They will go down if they work. But they doesn't have to go down for the roof to function. You can lift them back up when roof is open.

I think the car engine has to be running and put in park if its automatic gear box. Or try connecting battery maintainer to the battery when lowering roof.

Oh, It's ok, I have seen your comment with foto, it was in a spam folder. I'm not sure what could lead to it being on a top, but when opening or closing the roof you can pause at the time when the Rear Folding Parcel Shelf is up and have a look if there is nothing underneath that prevents it from going down lower. Or maybe the hinges aren't folding completely. I'm afraid I haven't got a better idea of what could it be.

Hi, no, I'm afraid I haven't experienced any sounds like that. Just thinking could it be your fuel in a tank when your fuel tank is half full or thereabout... It's not a diagnosis, just a thought.

Yes. Carefully resell the roof hoops where the roof glass and the rear window meets the painted arches. Use translucent glazing silicone seal. Not coming from fuel tank.

Hi, at first you can open the boot and check if that rolling curtain you pulled out before opening the roof is still intact and firmly hooked up on the left side, where the button/sensor is. Then check if the boot itself is properly shut. If all that is OK then it might be something broken. It is hard to say now. Does it even try to close when you push the button?

Hi, I would ebay or amazon. But it doesn't seem to be common part to brake so it will be hard to find I imagine. I don't know the nature of your brake down, but I would try to press it with a tooth pic maybe and leave it there, or something that nature.
