Really like your videos, I tend to binge watch several at night to try to catch up. On the DPF ... once you guys get some hours on the 8235r and it seems to go into regen more and more, there are relatively cheap solvents that you can use to help clean out the DPF. It'll require a partial tear down of the exhaust to be able to get the solvent where it needs to be, but it'll save you tons of money vs having the DPF "baked" Typically the more the engine idles and is run at light loads, the sooner the DPF will need to regen. Keep up the great work and thank you for feeding America!

Thanks for sharing this Ryan. I stopped full time farming in 1987. Newest tractor we had was a 4440. Brother things have really changed with tractor operation. Things were very basic back then. lol I wouldn't have any problems with your 4640 or the 4020, got my education with them. This was very informative for someone like me who doesn't farm anymore.

The reason there is a exhaust filter cleaning disable is say you where in a hay barn or some other confined spaces with flammable you can turn it off for safety. This is because exhaust temps come out some where around 800 degrees fahrenheit at the tip and can be a big fire risk. But you are correct if you keep it from doing the cleaning you will be do you derated to idle if it will let you start it at all, tell you have a service technician come out and run a manual DPF cleaning.

Lots of "gee-whiz" factor, plenty of toys, but I guess I'm old fashioned... I like the older tractors where you've got a kill cable, a key, a clutch, a gearshift lever and maybe powershift lever, and a few levers for SCV's and the 3 point hitch, brake pedals, diff lock pedal, and a few switches for the lights and AC/heater controls and fans. Basically, the KISS principle... All that electronic stuff is FINE *while it works right*, but these tractors won't last 50 or 60 years like the old ones... electronics eventually just go to pot with age, and then this thing will be too expensive to fix, can't get parts, and it'll be cheaper and easier to send it to the junkyard than to keep it running. I guess if a guy is farming enough ground to wear the thing out in ten years so it's ready to scrap mechanically anyway from being flat wore out in the engine and transmission, that's fine... cover a bazillion acres the thing will be falling apart anyway-- new stuff isn't built as stout or reliably as the older stuff... Electronic everything is neat, but the simple fact is, 95% of it is really unnecessary, and just overly complicated stuff to do the same thing a cable or lever could do reliably until the machine was just completely worn out and ready for the scrap heap... Just a LOT of extra money up front and a lot more to go wrong when you really need it, IMHO. Later! OL J R :)

Wiscansin fermers, I think maybe a dozer would be great on some of your fields to clean up the tree fingers growing up into the middle of the field, On our farm in Northeast Iowa the hills just suck to have trees growing up into the fields and it ends up saving alot of time fuel and money in the end if you guys were to make them tree fingers water ways making it easy and more efficient in the spring to get field work done.

Ryan, you run yours on auto mode for just disking or just light tillage. I'm asking because I just got a 8335r with a ivt my dealer tells me to run in auto all the time. I was plowing this fall but it pulled harder in manual mode.

Ryan, why did you go with the 8235R instead of the 7230R they are almost identical a very small amount in power 235 vs 230 the 8R can get front duals while the 7R can only get front singles but with the super wides on the 7R it's almost the same. So why did you choose to go with the 8235R?

Different weight class primarily.
@evan35618 жыл бұрын
+How Farms Work Why did you want a heavier weight class? From what I have seen through your videos (Which I love by the way) the disk would require the most power and weight but not that much.

Peice of advice from a heavy diesel mechanic, don't ever, EVER buy a vechice thats teir 3. DPF systems give you half the power while using twice the fuel! Also no plugged filter will ever be cleaned by running the engine at 1500 for 8 hours, they gotta pull it off and send it out for a "high temp burn off" love your videos though Ryan!

I also dont get why they put the temp controls on the command arm. Just put it somewhere away put it on 18 degree or 19 celcius automatic and be done with it. Yes I know it will require climate control (a 1500 dollar option right? :D )
