As a french person, I am LIVING for the many ways the subtitles translated "Mise en Place" in writing! Mison plus, Misonpas, Museum plus, Nissan plus, Museum plaza... It's hilarious! (Amazing video, as always, by the way)

I used to work as a school secretary and had to deal with CONSTANT interruption. What worked for me was having a solid to do list of at most 3 things that had to be done that day no excuses. Then I would have abt 5 tasks that were lower priority. And when on a task I would give myself abt 5 minutes to complete it or ecpect an interruption. Saved me so many headaches!

Now that I'm retired I split my time up into blocks where I can get my daily list of tasks done at my leisure but I build in frequent breaks for rest and self care. It's HEAVEN not having frequent jarring interruptions but now I get a little too deep with my projects and forget that i need to take care of myself! lmao

I really like this concept in theory. In practice however, as a person struggling with executive dysfunction, the introduction/set up leaves a bit of a sour taste. Saying something is only worth doing when doing it 100%, or phrasing it as active dishonesty when one isn't actually able to estimate how long tasks will take is a very narrow view on how task fullfillment works. I watch productivity videos with a burning passion as I try to find ways that work for my neurodivergent brain, and your videos have helped a great deal. The tips towards the second half of this video are definitely worth trying for me.

For me (undiagnosed, but my life improved so much when I started using tools and strategies for ADHD brains) it works best if I translate '100%/perfect/complete/...' to 'to the best of my abilities'. And my abilities may vary by day or hour, depending on so many factors. With the example of cooking, as it is a mise en place video :-) I am an awesome cook, and I love cooking for relaxation sometimes. So my absolute all time best will be a multi course meal, complete with a set table, making enough that there will be modular leftovers to be eaten im different ways over the next few days. Some days it will only be a one pot dish with a handful of ingredients, or something out of the freezer, or maybe even take out. As long as no one around me goes hungry, it was to the best of my abilities that day.

Came here to say this. Very ableist and quite ignorant, I'm sure not intentionally. I really bristled at the 90% is 0% done, and the use of lazy. I'm sad for the many of us who come here for advice but instead face ableist comments.

@@kellyvanniekerk226 there will always be things that work for NT’s, and there will be things that work for ND’s, they can work better with these things and they deserve them too. Though I understand that it’s harder to find systems that work for us NT’s. It doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing if it’s just not made for you/us.

It also depends on what the task is. 90 % of cleaning a house is still pretty clean!

This is wild, I talked about this in the kitchen in a show coming out in a couple weeks at the end I said, you can absolutely use this in other parts of your life too! And then you put this out. I love it when things like this happen! The world is a magical place! Thank you for all your great content.

Hi Muchelle, this was such a great video! So much to consider, I tend to not plan because my days can be unpredictable, and I don’t always finish what I have started. Off to look for the Charnas book. Thanks as always :-)

Hey Michelle I love your videos and always watch them when I feel like I need more organisation and clarity in my life haha Could you make a video about how to find a job after College? Me and two of my friends who graduated with me are struggling, we get a rejection after rejection and it looks so hopeless sometimes 😿 Keep up the great content 😻

Huuuuuuugely disagree with your 90% done is as good as 0% done (aka you can DEFINITELY serve a dish without sauce). I disagree based on the adage, anything worth doing is worth doing badly, which is a LOT more inclusive for people who struggle with organization (in particular executive dysfunction which ALOT of people deal with that seek out your advice). Please research this, as to say something like that is really ableist. I do love your work but I really couldn't not comment.
